PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. RARE...Original 1975 first pressing of a heavy progressive that you seldom see...real 'underground' stuff with a dramatic flair that should have plenty of interest by collectors...
In 1975 Florian Fricke (leader of the German group Popol Vuh) found out this Norwegian band was using his 'groups' name and threatened them with a lawsuit. For this reason Popol Vuh changed their name to Popol Ace.
Stolen From Time (1975) was the most ambitious effort by POPOL ACE benefiting from unusually generous amounts of studio time, provided by a record company dreaming of international success. It's one of those albums that was carefully produced, second by second. Included were some of their strongest and most mature songs, such as "Bury Me Dead" and "Today Another Day". Their overall sound (with more elaborate double guitars/keyboards led instrumental passages than before) was influenced by prime Peter Gabriel Genesis circa 1972-74. The album opener "Bury Me Dead" is a nice outfit using keyboard as the foundation of the music, augmented with guitar work. Vocal quality is strong fitting the music nicely. As opening track this one sets the overall tone of the album. "Today Another Day" is composed in the same vein like opening track. In this song Jahn Teigen (vocals) demonstrates his quality voice with a firm accent that makes the music is quite enjoyable. Guitar provides its solo at the background and never been exposed as soloist. The song changes its style into bluesy one in the middle of the track - or minute 4:00 to be exact. The guitar portion is now quite apparent. "The Jester" is another good rock tune combining guitar fills, keyboard and energetic voice. Jahn Teigen proves his voice which works well at high notes - followed with excellent keyboard work. "Soft Shoe Dancer" is good composition with bluesy style, nice vocal. This song provides good break for the album."Sleepwalker" concludes the album in medium tempo rock music combining guitar and keyboard and good vocal quality.
It's definitely a strong album that should suit those of you who collect obscure/rare Lp's from the early-mid 70s. Today the albums compositions appear stronger than those on their two following albums.
