BEAUTIFUL BLACK AKAI STEREO REEL-TO-REEL TAPE RECORDER 4000DS Mk2 - Professional Service - 6 Months Warranty
This is a superb example of the legendary AKAI 4000DS Mk 2, Stereo, Reel-to-Reel Tape Deck. Its slick, silky, black panels and face-plate are perfectly complimented by the crisp, brilliant white decals. The whole unit is in lovely condition and will look superb as part of any stereo set-up.
As can be seen from the final picture below, (which shows some of the machines that I currently have in use) I am a serious collector of quality reel-to-reel machines and I honestly believe that it would be difficult for you to find a better example of the Akai 4000DS Mk II than the one that I am currently offering. The results achieved using good quality tape and the fast recording speed of 7.5 IPS are simply stunning. This particular machine has been serviced very recently by the highly respected, specialist, reel-to-reel engineer GEOFF KREMMER of SERVICESOUND (see www.servicesound.com) and he has provided me with a six months warranty which IS transferable to the successful bidder, so please BID WITH TOTAL CONFIDENCE. The heads are in outstanding condition with no sign of any real wear and tear and all functions operate quietly, smoothly and exactly as they were designed to.
THE RARE WHITE SPOOLS SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH ARE INCLUDED IN THE SALE AND PERFECTLY COMPLIMENT THE CLASSY BLACK FACE PANEL. ONE OF THE SPOOLS CONTAINS 1800ft of HIGH QUALITY MAGNETIC RECORDING TAPE, THE OTHER IS THE MATCHING TAKE-UP SPOOL.

Everyone who comes to my home admires this machine, not only for its stunning good looks, but also for the sound quality which is almost breath-taking. This tape recorder of course, operates faultlessly. The VU meters light up as they should and give accurate readings and all controls operate smoothly and effectively. THIS MACHINE CAN BE USED EITHER VERTICALLY OR HORIZONTALLY AND HAS THE MUCH FAVOURED ‘SPRUNG SPOOL RETAINERS’ WHICH ARE FAR BETTER THAN THE RUBBER ‘PUCKS’ WHICH TEND TO FALL OFF AND GET LOST.
