"CAROLINA ON MY MIND/TAKING IT IN" - SUPER HARD TO FIND CANADIAN APPLE RECORDS 45 BY JAMES TAYLOR WITH RARE WITHDRAWN B SIDE AND MISSPELLING OF A SIDE TITLE. A great Apple label rarity that certainly doesn't turn up for auction very often! This is a rare Canadian first release pressing of this James Taylor 45 with a quickly withdrawn B side of "Taking It In". The A side is also misspelt as "Carolina ON My Mind" instead of the correct "Carolina IN My Mind". This version was released in very limited quantities in Canada and the US in early March, 1969. It was quickly pulled and reissued with corrected A side title and "Something's Wrong" as the new B side. It seems that fewer were available in Canada and even fewer have survived or surfaced since then for Apple/Beatles collectors to add to their collections. I have never come across another copy in  over 20 years of collecting! This rare release was featured in the November/December 2001 issue of "Beatlology" magazine where Apple Records expert Jeffery Levy estimated it's value at $375 for a Canadian copy. The copy up for auction is in very nice condition. I would grade it as VG but it might be higher than that. The reason for the lower grade would be the slight label wear on both sides. The wear is the lighter colour on the pictures of the label. The labels are still quite glossy and nice with no writing or stickers. The vinyl has a few light scuffs with some minimal wear and it plays and sounds great! Still very shiny with no major detractions. Comes with original Apple sleeve. I will grade on the safe side and say VG. This is still a very nice copy  and would be a great addition to your collections. Don't miss your chance to own one of the rarest Apple label releases! Grading:

Record: VG to VG+ with some light scuffs and minimal wear. Plays and sounds great!

Labels: VG with some wear especially on the outer rim of label and through the stem on the apple on A side. B side wear is on outer rim and an inner ring on the label about halfway through the stem of the apple. Still glossy and clean with no writing or stickers.
