Description

BEATLES WHITE ALBUM  Apple PMC 7068 in mono released in 1968.  In general terms, this comes in a top opening, fully laminated sleeve with flip back inner sleeve at each side, numbered 0058510.  The Apple label has Mfd in UK and Sold in UK subject to..etc.  Unfortunately, there is no poster and only two of the photos.  The condition of the cover is EX but the vinyl has seen some wear so is VG.  This copy has both of the original black paper inner sleeves.  Now to a bit more detail, starting with the cover.

The sleeve is in excellent condition and has only a very faint minor crease at the front top left.  If held to the light, then very faint ring wear can be detected on the front and back, but inside this is not evident.  On the front and back are extremely faint scuff marks but these are really difficult to see.  The title 'THE BEATLES' is embossed on the front and in the low left corner the number 0058510 has been printed and the indentations of the numbers can be felt.  The spine is completely intact and the serial number and title can clearly be seen, even though the writing is really small.  The laminate is fully intact although there is very minor wear at the top openings for the records, but this is hardly noticeable.

Each disc comes in the original black paper sleeves, which have the circular hole showing the record label on one side only.  These have both seen some wear and have creases at each corner and small tears at the centre hole.  However, there are no major rips or tears.

There are two photos only, of John and Paul.  These have no tears, creases or marks but show signs of sellotape on the corners of the back where they have probably been stuck on a bedroom wall.

The Apple label has the Mfd in UK and Sold in UK.  In the four run offs, XEX 709-1, 710-1, 711-1 and 712-1 is printed, so this is the first issue, from what I can see.  I'll deal with the quality of the vinyl by each side, but there are surface marks on each side, clealy visible when held to a light.

Side 1  This side plays well with only very faint background crackle in places, which can't be heard on loud tracks.  It looks worse than it plays.

Side 2  Same as side 1, but with scratch accross 'I'm So Tired' for about 20 seconds.

Side 3  Background crackle virtually throughout, but can't be heard on loud tracks.  Pops a couple of times on 'Long, Long,Long' and 2 pops on 'Sexy Sadie'

Side 4  Faint backgrond crackle throughout.

I suspect that the crackle is from quite a few plays but there is nothing major.

Nothing much more to detail.  I've gone for a very detailed description rather than photos, because any Beatles fan will know exactly what this looks like and records can be made to look pristine when photographed in certain light.  If you want any more info, please email me.  Don't bid for this if you want a perfect copy, but this plays OK and the cover is a beauty.
