THE BEATLES – WHITE ALBUM, ORIGINAL MONO - EARLY SERIAL NUMBER
1968 PMC 7067/7068 - APPLE LABEL. MONO
A UK FIRST EDITION TOP OPENING MONO PRESSING WITH A LOW SERIAL NUMBER OF ‘0007232’.
The matrix nos. are XEX 709-1, XEX 710-1, XEX 711-1 and XEX 712-1.
The Mother/Stampers are: ‘5 HL’, ‘3 HH’, ‘2 HA’ and ‘7 GDH’
MAIN SLEEVE: the double album gatefold sleeve is in very good condition but shows slight signs of handling. On the front it has a raised Beatles logo and the unique, and very low, SERIAL Number of 0007232. There is no text printed on the back of the sleeve (indicating that it is a genuine MONO sleeve). The records are accessed from the top. The spine is in very good condition and all the text is readable. The interior of the sleeve is in excellent condition and very clean. The flipbacks are all in very good condition and firmly stuck down. The labels are dark green and there is a small circled "P" next to the date (see label photo).
INNER SLEEVES: these are replacements. One of them is black. The black one might be the original - not sure!
LYRIC SHEET/POSTER: in excellent condition. Includes the glossy pink kiss, which was dropped later.
PHOTOS: are in very good++ condition, are glossy and made of the original thick card.
VINYL:
Record One: side One is in Very Good condition, side Two is in Good condition,
Record Two: side Three is in Good condition and side Four is in Good condition.
I have no equipment for playing vinyl so cannot be 100% certain of the above. These discs have not been played for 20 years. There are some scratches and I don't want to hide that from potential purchasers. If you want more detail, please ask, but remember I can only give a visual response. If you are looking for a disc with the vinyl in perfect condition, you've come to the wrong place! If you are looking for a bargain - then maybe you've found it! I am a 65 year-old who was a big fan (still am) and, like most people, I actually played my records. My audio equipment in those days was good.
THE LABELS: are in Good to Very Good condition, featuring the original dark green Apple colours. The text ‘An EMI recording’ DOES NOT appear on any of the labels and the labels show ‘Sold in UK’ text etc. George and Ringo’s songs are listed as ‘Apple Publishing Ltd’. These, together with the serial number etc. are indicators of an early pressing.
