Description
BEATLES UK – original White Album, numbered Stereo sleeve LP – ‘Racoon’ mispress.
1968 PCS 7067/7068 - apple record labels.
A UK first press top loading Stereo copy with a unique serial number of ‘No. 0544471’ featuring:
1. on side two of the record label it features the spelling mistake of ‘Racoon’ !, as it has been incorrectly spelt with one ‘c’ !, this was soon spotted by EMI and corrected but some records with this error made their way onto the public market,
2. side one of the record has a ‘1 G’ mother/stamper, this is the very earliest you can have,
3. side three on the record label there are the letters ‘K J T’ embossed around the spindle hole. The letters KT were removed by EMI in January 1969, it is thought the letter ‘J’ was a final amendment,
4. labels one and three have the text, ‘Sold in UK’ etc printed in the regular font, but on labels two and four this line of text is printed in a slimmer font !, letter style !,
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in good++ condition, the double album gatefold sleeve is fully laminated. On the front it has an embossed Beatles logo and a unique individual SERIAL number of No. 0544471. On the rear there is a small ‘Stereo’ logo printed proving this to be a genuine STEREO sleeve. The spine is in good+ condition and about 80% of the text can be read. The sleeve features two visible flipbacks when the sleeve is opened, these flipbacks are all excellent and well stuck down. When the sleeve is opened it is very glossy, clean and tidy. There are NO tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue. To the top of the spine there is a 60mm split.
THE INNER SLEEVES: are the original APPLE black inner sleeves and have not been replaced. One sleeve is in very good condition with some fraying to the top two opening edges and there is a split to the bottom edge and to the two side edges and two small tears around the ‘die cut hole’. The other sleeve is in near very good condition, it has some fraying to the top two opening edges and there is a split to the bottom edge and three 30mm tears around the ‘die cut hole’. The inners are completely original with no repairs or sellotape etc.
THE POSTER: is not present.
THE PHOTOS: are not present.
THE VINYL: is in very good condition, the records are made of the original ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl.
The matrix nos. are: YEX 709 – 1, YEX 710 - 1, YEX 711 - 1 and YEX 712 - 2.
The Mother/Stampers are: ‘ 1 G ’ the earliest you can have, ‘ 3 H G ’, ‘ 5 R L ’ and ‘ 2 G A H ’.
THE AUDIO: is very good, the records play well with some crackle and some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. Each record lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: are in very good++ condition. As this is a very first press two of the labels feature the original DARK green apple colours. All the labels show the text ‘Sold in the UK’ etc, and the text ‘An EMI recording’, the George and Ringo songs are listed as ‘Apple Publishing’. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING - ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
