BEATLES UK, White Album, rare ReVOLUTION mis press label and sleeve, UK original numbered stereo sleeve.

PCS 7067/7068, original UK first issue 1968 Apple record labels.

A UK first issue, top loading stereo copy with a unique serial number of ‘No. 0589736, featuring:

1. record label four has a rare mis print, as the track title reads, ‘ReVOLUTION 9’, ie it has been mis printed with a small ‘e’. This was soon spotted at EMI and the error was soon corrected, so only a very small number of these mis printed labels were ever printed,

2. the spine on the sleeve is unusual as it appears to have been mis pressed at the printers. The bottom of the spine begins with a conventional spine, ie it is thinner and has a ‘center seam’, but as the spine gets to the center, the spine changes shape and by the time it gets to the top of the spine, the spine has transformed into a ‘wider, flatter’ profile spine that no longer has a center seam !,

3. each record has the earliest, 'mothers', of '1',

4. record labels one and two have the text, ‘An EMI Recording’, but on labels three and four, this text is not printed !,

5. as this is a first UK issue, each of the record labels has the text, ‘Sold in UK’, etc,

6. as this is a first UK issue, sides one and three feature the original UK, dark green ‘Apple’ colour record labels.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in good++ condition, the double album ‘gate fold’ sleeve is fully laminated. On the front of the sleeve it has an embossed Beatles logo and a unique individual serial number of, 0589736, over the years this number has some what been rubbed away but the ‘indentation’ of the number can be seen when the sleeve is tilted to the light. On the rear of the sleeve there is the word ‘stereo’ printed, proving this to be a genuine ‘stereo’ sleeve. The spine is in good+ condition and most of the text on the spine is readable. As this is a first UK issue, the sleeve features two visible ‘flip backs’, ie two side ‘fold over’ edges, seen when the sleeve is opened. When the sleeve is opened it is glossy, clean and tidy. Theres NO pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a split to the spine where it meets the front panel that runs from the top of the spine down to the center of the spine and a 40mm split to the spine where it meets the rear panel that runs from the bottom of the spine. There is some ‘scuffing’ and some wear and tear to the top and the bottom of the spine. On each of the opening edges on the rear panel there is a 10mm tear.

THE INNER SLEEVES: are the two original ‘Apple’ black inner sleeves and have not been replaced. One inner sleeve is in good+ condition, it has two 20mm tears and three small ‘nicks’ around the ‘die cut hole’ and some ‘nicks’ and ‘fraying’ to the front opening edge and some ‘nicks’ and ‘fraying’ to the rear opening edge. There is a split to one side edge and to the bottom edge. The other side edge has a split all along the edge. The other inner sleeve is also in good+ condition, it has a 10mm and a 20mm tear around the ‘die cut hole’ and a 10mm tear to the front opening edge and a 50mm tear and a 15mm tear and some ‘nicks’ and some ‘fraying’ to the rear opening edge and some creasing. Each sleeve is free from any repairs, sellotape, stickers or sticker residue.

THE POSTER: is not present.

THE PHOTOS: are not present.

THE RECORDS: record one, side one, is in good++ condition. Side two is in good+ condition. Side three is in very good condition and side four is in near very good condition. The records are made of the original 1960s ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl. The records have remained dark and glossy.

The matrix are: YEX 709 – 1, YEX 710 - 1, YEX 711 - 1 and YEX 712 - 1.

The mother/stampers are: ‘1 P G ’, ‘1 O T ’, ‘1 G A’ and ‘1 L’, all the earliest, ‘mothers’, being ‘1’.

THE AUDIO: each side plays near very good, each side plays with some light ‘crackle’ and some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. Each side plays with a full, loud period stereo sound. The records lay flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: side one is in near excellent condition. Side two is in very good++ condition. Side three is in very good+ condition and side four is in near excellent condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
