1968 PCS 7067/7068 – original, UK first issue dark green ‘Apple’ record labels.

A UK first issue stereo, top loading sleeve, featuring:

1. a UK first issue stereo, top loading, double album, gate fold sleeve from 1968, with a unique serial number of, ‘0307096’,

2. UK first issue record labels as sides one and three feature the original DARK green ‘Apple’ colours,

3. UK first issue record labels, as each record label features the text, ‘Sold in UK’ etc.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition. The original UK 1968 gate fold ‘flip back’ sleeve is fully laminated. The laminate has remained glossy and relatively free from much ‘indentations’. On the front it has an embossed Beatles logo and a unique individual serial number of ‘0307096’, this number appears clear and bold. To the rear there is a small printed ‘stereo’ logo, proving this to be a genuine ‘stereo’ sleeve. The spine is in very good++ condition and for its age has remained clean, there is some of the usual ‘flaky’ laminate, most of the text on the spine is readable. The four opening edges have remained sharp for their age. When the gate fold sleeve is opened the sleeve features two visible ‘flip backs’ when the sleeve is opened, these ‘flip backs’ are excellent and well stuck down. When the sleeve is opened it is very glossy, clean and tidy. The rear of the sleeve is also very clean and glossy. There are NO splits, tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a slight ‘water’ mark to the rear top edge and to the rear inner opening edge and to the front inner bottom edge.

THE INNER SLEEVES: are the two original ‘Apple’ black inner sleeves and have not been replaced. The first sleeve is in very good condition, it has some small ‘nicks’ and some ‘fraying’ to the rear opening edge. There are NO tears, splits, repairs, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue to the sleeve. The other sleeve is in near very good condition, it has a small area of paper loss to the front opening edge and a small area of paper loss to the rear opening edge and some small ‘nicks’ and some ‘fraying’ to the rear opening edge. There are NO tears, splits, repairs, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue to the sleeve.

THE POSTER: the original poster is in near excellent condition. For its age the poster has remained clean and white in colour. Theres NO pen writing, sellotape/residue/repairs, pin holes, blue tack residue, tears, splits, stickers or sticker residue. There is some light wear to the edges at the folds.

THE PHOTOS: the four original photos are in very good+ condition. Theres NO pen writing, pin hole damage, sellotape/residue, blue tack residue, tears, stickers or sticker residue. On the rear of the photo of John, Paul and Ringo there is a slight ‘water’ mark to one of the side edges.

THE RECORDS: side one is in near very good condition, it has some long ‘scuff’ marks to the playing surface on about a third of the playing surface where someone has maybe tried to clean the record. Side two is in near excellent condition. Side three is in very good++ condition. Side four is in very good condition, it has some long ‘scuff’ marks to the playing surface on about a third of the playing surface where someone has maybe tried to clean the record. The records are made of the original 1960s quality, ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl.

The matrix are: YEX 709 – 1, YEX 710 - 1, YEX 711 - 1 and YEX 712 - 1.

The mother/stampers are: ‘1 G T’, ‘2 L T ’, ‘5 H R’ and ‘4 G M L ’.

THE AUDIO: side one plays very good++ with some light ‘crackle’ and some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. Side two plays near excellent, it plays with some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. Side three plays very good++, it plays with some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. Side four begins play with some ‘crackle’ and ‘ticks’ for approximately two minutes, it soon settles down to play with some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there, so I will grade the audio on side four as very good+. Each side plays with a full, loud period stereo sound. Each record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: sides one, two and four are in excellent condition. Side three is in very good++ condition. Each label has the text, ‘An EMI recording’. Each label is free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
