BEATLES UK – ‘Sgt Pepper’ original Mono LP, mispressed label.

PMC 7027 – black and yellow Parlophone labels.

A UK album in 100% original condition featuring:

1.  a hard to find mispressed label, as the record label on side two, the track ‘A day in the life’ has NOT been printed on the label !. It is hard to see how this could have happened at the EMI printing factory. The track at the time was banned by the BBC in England, maybe it was that fact why the track was not printed on the label !. The fact that the track was never removed from the sleeve makes this theory seem unlikely.

2. the sleeve has an unusual spine as it appears to have a more ‘flat profile’ to it !, see photo, the width of the spine measures 6mm,

3. the colour of the sky on the front sleeve photo seems to be a much lighter blue than normal !,

4. on side one on the record label the text, ‘Sold in UK’ etc has an extra dot, ie it reads, ‘Sold in .U.K.’, the label on side two does not have this additional ‘dot’ !.

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition, it is fully laminated. The spine is in very good++ condition and has remained a good clean white in colour, with all the text on the spine clear to read, see photo. The spine has a more ‘flat’ profile to it than normal, the width of the spine measures 6mm. There are NO splits, tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition and is the original period EMI ‘Patents applied for’ sleeve. There are NO tears, splits, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE INSERT: the original DARK green card insert is present and is in excellent condition. Theres NO pen writing, tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue.

THE VINYL: side one is in very good+ condition, side one has a ‘scuff’ that runs into tracks two, three, four and five. Side two is in excellent+ condition, it is difficult to see any marks under normal daylight conditions. The vinyl has remained very dark and glossy. The vinyl is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl.

The matrix  nos. are:  XEX  637 – 1  and  XEX  638 - 1,

The Mother/Stampers are:  ‘ 2   M A O  ’  and   ‘ 1 9    M M T ’.

THE AUDIO: is very good, it plays with some crackle and the odd isolated ‘tick’. The vinyl lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: side one is in excellent condition, side two is in excellent+ condition. Side one has an additional ‘dot’ on the text ‘Sold in UK’ etc ie it reads ‘Sold in .U.K.’ etc. There are NO letters embossed around the spindle holes. The labels are free for any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
