BEATLES UK, Rubber Soul, loud cut, first UK mono issue 1965.
PMC 1267 - original UK 1965 mono yellow and black Parlophone labels.
A UK album in original condition, featuring:
1. a first UK mono issue of this album featuring the 1/1 mono matrix, now referred to as the ‘loud cut’,
2. upon its first release in the UK in December 1965 attempts were made to recall these first issue 1/1 mono matrix records as the Beatles record producer was not satisfied with the overall sound balance. These first issue 1/1 mono matrix records were quickly replaced with the more familiar 4/4 mono matrix records,
3. on side two of the record label there is a factory ‘ink smudge’ to the letters ‘PA’ on the word Parlophone, printed in yellow. This should have been spotted by the quality control department at EMI, but the record made it out into the shops.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The laminate has remained an excellent clean glossy finish. The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained sharp. The spine is in excellent++ condition and all the text is clear to read on the spine. The rear of the sleeve features the original 1960s ‘tri’ flip back design. The rear of the sleeve has remained very clean for its age. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is some light age related marks here and there on the rear of the sleeve.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. The two opening edges have remained very clean. Theres NO pen writing, splits, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve. There is a small 5mm tear on one side of the sleeve around the ‘die cut hole’ and some slight age related marks to one side of the inner sleeve.
THE RECORD: side one is in very good++ condition. Side two is in near excellent condition. The record is made from the period 1960s ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl. It has remained very dark and glossy.
The matrix are: XEX 579 - 1 and XEX 580 – 1,
The mother/stampers are: ‘8 GDP’ and ‘2 HD’.
THE AUDIO: side one plays near excellent, it plays with some light crackle and some light ‘pops’ heard here and there, but in general it plays with excellent quiet grooves. Side two plays excellent, it plays with some crackle on the intro to track one, otherwise it plays with excellent quiet groves. The record plays with a full loud, powerful period mono sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: are in excellent condition. The letters ‘K T’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
