The Beatles - The White AlbumOriginal and COMPLETE ULTRA RARE UK Export One Box press!
Great Playing Record! Great Cover. Complete UK Edition!
This is an unbelievably rare pressing of 'The White Album' - a UK Parlophone EXPORT press on the ULTRA RARE ONE BOX Parlophone EMI labels! Possibly produced in an even smaller run than the Yellow and Black Parlophone pressing, this press virtually never comes on the market. Just try and find another one!!
The Ultra Rare 1969 UK Parlophone Export 2nd Press, on the Silver and Black One Box Label, with the correct 1st press TOP Opening Flip back cover, 1st press UK Poster and 1st Press UK prints of the Beatles, along with the Original Black Inner sleeves and the Original Export Vinyl’s, that were printed with the White Album 1st Press Matrix Numbers.
First designed for export on the standard Parlophone Yellow and Black label in 1968, a second press was produced in 1969 on the Iconic and transitional One Box label. These One Box pressings were printed in the UK for the export market, meant for countries such as The Republic of Ireland and America. In the mean time the apple label was being set up and the license was gained to sell the White Album abroad.
The estimated amount needed for the export market was low, as it was uncertain how long the legalities would take to sort out, with around 300 to 400 copies being printed in the UK. The licence was a achieved and the Export labels no longer needed, making any exisiting export pressings unbeleavably rare as they ended up being porduced in such small numbers.
This is the ORIGINAL UK EXPORT 2nd pressing from 1969, in Great all round condition! An ORIGINAL EXPORT Pressing on the ULTRA RARE Export 'One Box EMI' Parlophone Labels. It comes with the correct 1st Press Black inner sleeves, 'The Gramophone Company' Text on BOTH labels, original UK 'Full Size' Poster, 1st Press UK 4 Colour Prints, and the original UK TOP opening 'Numbered' FULLY Laminated Flip back 'Garrod & Lofthouse' Cover!
The UK 1st Press matrix numbers are YEX 709-1, YEX 710-1, YEX 711-1 & YEX 712-1, only found on UK pressings. The Numbered UK TOP OPENING Gatefold Flip back Laminated Cover comes with 'Stereo' printed on the reverse. This is the original cover for this ULTRA RARE 1969 EXPORT issue - with the relatively high '0440046' 1st Press number, corresponding to the export date.
This is a great opportunity to own a classic and genuinely rare piece of musical history. I bought this copy some twenty years ago, and it has been stored and unplayed since then.
It comes complete with;
- Original Lipstick poster, only available on first pressings
- Original black inners
- Original Four photos of the individual members
- Original photo spacer
All originals, making this a true collectors item.

THIS IS A COMPLETE GENUINE RARE ORIGINAL AND IS A REMARKABLE OPPORTUNITY TO BUY AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF ONE OF THE MOST HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE VINYL ALBUMS OF ALL TIME.
An exceptional copy from THE BEATLES in very clean condition , that plays great from start to finish.
THE RECORD - VISUAL GRADING - VERY GOOD PLUS
A thick pressed set of glossy vinyls. They have NO serious scratches but there are a number of faint hairlines, (some of which are quite long) scuffs and handling marks. Not pristine but still a lovely set
ALBUM PLAYED FOR AUDIO GRADING:
Yes – brilliant! - VERY GOOD PLUS to EXCELLENT sound quality throughout!
These rare vinyls play with Top Audio, amazing crystal clear sound. Strong, undistorted sound free of pops, clicks or distortion.
The record plays with staggering power, with a minimum of surface sound during the tracks. There is occasional static background sound but it is not dominant.
Great audio with minimal interference to distract form the overly enjoyment of this great record and hardly any surface or static noise between the tracks.
The music jumps out, with definition and clarity, particularly on the percussion instruments, and vocals which come through with tremendous power. As is the same with the bass guitar and drums, whilst the guitars come through crisp and clear. I have given these vinyls a conservative VERY GOOD PLUS to EXCELLENT grading due to the light and occasional static. On saying that these records really do play with Fantastic Audio, amazing clarity, definition and sound separation, and NO distortion what so ever. SUPERB!
A great all round Complete and Unbelievably Rare example of this BEATLES MASTERPIECE
The Beatles, later known as the White Album, had over a quarter of a million advance orders, and of course went straight to number 1. This was the first double album EVER to get to the top slot where it stayed for 7 weeks in a row. It sold so many, that once again The Beatles also made the singles chart, consequently the ONLY double album to ever enter that chart. By the end of the year, just over a month later, the white album had sold over 4,000,000 copies worldwide, and by the end of 1970 global sales were around 6.5 million. At that time this was the biggest selling double album of all time.
The sleeve design was by Richard Hamilton, who suggested the minimalistic approach and the consecutively numbered sleeves which would give a limited edition feel to it. Richard also came up with the montage idea for the large free poster, which included the lyrics on it's rear. The four free colour prints were taken by John Kelly.
VINYL TESTED FOR ANY SIGNS OF WARPING:
Yes, NONE visible what so ever, when tested be sight and on a moving turntable.
THE COVER – EXCELLENT -
Comes with the 1st Press STEREO Gatefold Laminated Flip back 'Numbered' Cover, the original Top Loading Sleeve by GARROD & LOFTHOUSE printed in the UK.
It is made in the heavier thick card only found on the first press albums. The title THE BEATLES is embossed under the laminate, with the Edition Number - No. 0440046 - pressed into the sleeve. The UK ORIGINAL GARROD & LOFTHOUSE gatefold covers came with fully Laminate Flip Backs.
The cover has maintained its creamish white sheen, with a solid unbroken readable spine. The laminate has lifted slightly along the spine, but is on the whole intact. The text is clear beneath the laminate. The inside is clean with no feathering to the top openings, which is extremely unusual. The left hand flip back does show damage and there is the impression of a what musty have been a shop label, long since removed. This is a lovely example but does have thsi slight damage to the flip back and a few creases as clearly shown in the images.
These 1st press versions, do have a tendency to ‘yellow’, and this one does have some yellowing near the edges, but its an Excellent cover with little to fault it.
THE LABELS - EXCELLENT CONDITION
Ultra Rare Parlophone Export labels, in EXCELLENT Condition, no marks or writing, light spindle wear and slight (very slight) fading to the colour in places. Great all round examples
THE INNERS
EXCELLENT condition Original black inner sleeves. (not modern replacements) NO tears around the die cut openings, and just some very very light wear at the tops, virtually undetectable. Unbelievably there are NO seam splits down the outside edges, which is virtually un heard of.
The vinyls themselves will of course come in two plain white inner sleeves, and have not been stored in these original black inners.
THE POSTERS, PRINTS AND SPACER
Large original Lip Stick PHOTO-MONTAGE and LYRIC SHEET, 57 x 87 cms in Excellent condition. no tears or splits, just some light wear on the edges. - No tears, no writing, no pin-holes, no glue or sellotape marks.
Comes with all Four Photos which are in EXCELLENT Condition. all Four Prints, 20 x 29 cms, on the original Thick Card. - No tears, no writing, no pin-holes, no glue or sellotape marks.

SCRUPULOUS EXAMINATION and TESTING; PLEASE NOTE:
This record has been play tested to ensure the sound quality and accuracy of description. I aim to give a precise and concise description of the sound quality, pointing out any defects so that you know what you are bidding on. I will not go into screeds of information about nature of the songs, as I imagine that you already know them well. I aim to describe all items as accurately as possible, and offer a full refund on return if for any reason you are not completely happy with the item description.
VINYL SOUND - PLEASE NOTE:
Top quality vinyl with clear sound is rare, and is what I always aim for. Even with the cleanest copies you will find occasional static sound during playback, caused by a build of dust in the grooves. This is clearly different from the distortion, loud pops or clicks that are found on heavily played and worn pieces of vinyl. Any static build up will reduce when played, and I advise a light clean should be given between plays for optimal performance.
