On 11-Dec-11 at 00:03:03 GMT, seller added the following information:The version of "Penny Lane" issued on this Promotional 45 in the U.S. and Canada became an instant rarity because it contained an earlier mono mix of the song that was different from the commercially released 45. This mix (known as mix RM11) featured a trumpet overdub over the ending of the song that was shaved off of later mixes, including the mix heard on the commercial single and the Magical Mystery Tour EP in the UK and the Magical Mystery Tour LP in the U.S. For a 1980 U.S. compilation by Capitol, titled The Beatles Rarities, a fake stereo mix of this version was created by editing in the trumpet riff ending on a newer stereo mix of the song...This is an ORIG issue with following matrix info...Dead wax on Penny Lane side reads: 45-45871 F 1, followed by a gap and an asterisk-like symbol
Strawberry Fields side reads: 45-45870-G-2, followed by a gap and the number 2, and then another gap and the same asterisk-like symbol
