Description
On offer here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by The Beatles called 'Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' and is an ORIGINAL 1967 UK MONO 1st Pressing on the 1st Press Yellow & Black Parlophone label!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!! THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST & MOST SOUGHT AFTER BEATLES LPS OF ALL TIME - AND SIMPLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE LIKE THIS!!!! BUT THIS PARTICULAR 1ST PRESSING IS VERY VERY SPECIAL INDEED FOR 4 MAIN REASONS - AND THESE REASONS HAVE TO MAKE THIS LP THE RAREST SGT PEPPER LP EVER TO BE OFFERED FOR SALE - EVER!!!! FIRSTLY THIS LP HAS THE 'EARLIEST POSSIBLE' 1ST PRESS COVER DESIGN WITH AN ULTRA RARE 'WIDE SPINE' COVER (SEE PICTURES)!!!! ONLY THE VERY 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSINGS EVER MADE - HAD 'WIDE SPINE' COVERS AND THEY ARE INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TO FIND - AS THEY WERE ALMOST IMMEDIATELY DROPPED, AND CHANGED TO 'STANDARD' THINNER SPINE COVERS!!!! ONLY AN ABSOLUTELY TINY AMOUNT OF THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSINGS EVER MADE - EVER CAME IN WIDE SPINE COVERS - MOST DID NOT!!!! SECONDLY THIS LP HAS A 'FACTORY SAMPLE' STICKER ON THE SIDE 1 LABEL - CLEARLY SHOWING THAT THIS WAS ONE OF THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSINGS EVER MADE - FOR 'IN-HOUSE USE' ONLY!!!! BUT LASTLY & MOST IMPORTANTLY THIS LP HAS THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS MATRIXES AND MOTHER & STAMPER CODES YOU CAN POSSIBLY FIND!!!! INCREDIBLY, NOT ONLY DOES THIS LP HAS THE 1ST PRESS 1/1 MONO MATRIX ENDINGS - BUT AMAZINGLY IT HAS THE 'EARLIEST POSSIBLE' 1/G 1/R MOTHER & STAMPER CODINGS!!!! AND THIS CLEARLY SHOWS THAT THIS LP WAS QUITE LITERALLY THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE - AND ONE OF THE FIRST 300 COPIES EVER PRESSED, ON THE VERY FIRST DAY OF PRESSING - WAY BEFORE THE RELEASE DATE!!!! BUT THERE IS 1 MORE VERY INTERESTING POINT ABOUT THIS LP - AND THAT IS THAT THERE MUST HAVE BEEN 'LATE CORRECTION' TO ONE OF THE MOTHERS (THOUGH THERE IS NO DOUBTING THAT THIS IS THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING EVER!!!! LOOKING AT THE TINY CODINGS IN THE RUN OFF GROOVE - YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THAT 3 OF THE MOTHERS & STAMPERS ARE DEFNITIVELY 'MACHINE STAMPED' - WHEREAS 1 IS ETCHED (OR VERY LIGHTLY STAMPED - I CANNOT DECIDE WHICH!)!!!! THE 1/G MOTHER & STAMPERS ON 1 SIDE ARE DEFINITIVELY STAMPED (CLEARLY SHOWING THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE!) - AND SO IS THE STAMPER LETTER 'R' ON THE OTHER SIDE. HOWEVER ON THE SIDE OF THE 'R' STAMPER STAMPING - THE MOTHER IS NOT 100% CLEAR. THERE APPEARS TO BE A STAMPED OUT DIGIT (COMMON ON EMI PRESSINGS WHEN A MISTAKE WAS MADE!) AND NEXT TO IT A VERY FAINTLY ETCHED (OR LIGHTLY STAMPED) '1' FOR THE MOTHER CODING!!!! THIS CLEARLY MUST HAVE BEEN A MISTAKE RIGHT AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE PRESSING RUN, AS CONSIDERING ALL THREE OTHER MOTHER & STAMPER CODES ARE DEFINITIVELY THE 'EARLIEST POSSIBLE' AND MACHINE STAMPED '1/G' ON 1 SIDE & AND 'MACHINE STAMPED 'R' ON THE OTHER - THE ONLY DIGIT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN USED FOR THE MOTHER CODE ON THE 'R' SIDE IS A '1'!!!! SO CLEARLY THIS MUST HAVE BEEN A CORRECTION MADE BEFORE PRESSING (CERTAINLY NOT UNHEAD OF ON BEATLES LPS - THERE WERE MANY MANY CORRECTIONS MADE TO THE MOTHERS & STAMPERS ON VIRTUALLY EVERY BEATLES LPS YOU CARE TO MENTION!)!!!! AND EVEN WITH THIS CORRECTION - THERE IS NO DOUBT AT ALL THAT THIS IS THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING YOU CAN POSSIBLY FIND!!!! DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE MASSIVE RARITY OF THIS LP!!!! FINDING ANY 'WIDE SPINE' EARLIEST 1ST PRESSING IS INCREDIBLY RARE INDEED, BUT FINDING QUITE LITERALLY THE 'EARLIEST' MONO 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE IS TRULY IMPOSSIBLE!!!! AND THIS HAS TO MAKE THIS LP THE RAREST SGT PEPPER LP EVER TO BE OFFFERED FOR SALE - AND MUST BE REGARDED AS A TRUE 'PIECE OF HISTORY'!!!! BECAUSE OUT OF ALL OF THE MILLIONS OF COPIES THAT WERE EVER SOLD OF THIS LEGENDARY LP THOUGHOUT THE YEARS - THIS ONE WAS THE VERY FIRST!!!! THIS LP IS ALSO 100% COMPLETE - WITH 1ST PRESS RED/WHITE INNER SLEEVE, 1ST PRESS 'DARKER GREEN' INSERT, 1ST PRESS 'WIDE SPINE' COVER, & 1ST PRESS THICK QUALITY RECORD!!!! THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1967 UK 'EARLIEST' MONO 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS YELLOW & BLACK PARLOPHONE LABEL, 1ST PRESS 'SOLD IN THE UK' TEXT, 1ST PRESS 'GRAMOPHONE COMPANY' EDGE TEXT, 1ST PRESS 'KT' TAX CODE, 1ST PRESS RED/WHITE 'PATENTS APPLIED FOR' INNER SLEEVE, 1ST PRESS 'DARKER GREEN' INSERT, AND 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS 'GARROD & LOFTHOUSE' GATEFOLD FULLY LAMINATED FLIPBACK MONO 'WIDE SPINE' COVER!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!!!! This is the ORIGINAL UK MONO 1st Pressing from 1967 and is in BRILLIANT condition overall!!!! The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The matrix numbers are XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1. The mother & stamper codes are 1/G 1/R - the EARLIEST POSSIBLE!!!! The Cat. No is PMC 7027 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Yellow & Black Parlophone label (see picture) and is a MONO 1st pressing!!!! All the tracks are Pure quality Beatles at their best!!!! Any fan of The Beatles, or 60s music in general, will want to have this in their collection!!!!
The record labels are in STUNNING condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and only a few light spindle marks!!!! The vinyl is in GREAT condition!!!! Though it is VERY important to note - that the MOST important thing is here - that this is the EARLIEST 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE - and whilst you can hear the music on any standard Mono 1st Pressing - there are only a TINY handful of people in the WORLD today that can claim to own the EARLIEST EVER Mono 1st Pressing of this LP with 1/G 1/R mother & stamper codings!!!! And there is absolutely NO doubt AT ALL that this LP is 1000 times rarer than any MINT Mono 1st Pressing of this LP!!!! That said - this record is in GREAT condition in its own right and retains an AWESOME shine!!!! Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, 1 long visible (but NON sounding!) hairline, only 2 or 3 MEGA light hairlines, only 2 or 3 VERY light scufflines, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!! There are also a few VERY minor hairlines in the run off groove on 1 side ONLY - though these are NOT on the playing surface!!!! THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK!!!! It is great to find that the playing of the record is as STUNNING as the visual!!!! It plays with NO nasty loud pops, barely ANY clicks AT ALL, NO sticking, NO jumps, and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!!!! There is also some slight interference right at the VERY end of Side 2 (after the music finishes). The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO distortion!!!! The record must MEGA STRICTLY visually grade Good++++ (PROPERLY graded, NOT trashed) if not better - with the playing grade better still!!!! THIS RECORD PLAYS BRILLIANTLY!!!! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press Red/White inner sleeve which is in BRILLIANT condition - though there is some 'invisible tape' (NOT sellotape!) on the edges (which is VERY easy to overlook!)!!!! The ORIGINAL 'Earliest' 1st press 'Darker Green' Iinsert is in SUPERB condition and has clearly NEVER left the cover!!!! The ULTRA RARE 'Earliest' 1st Press Gatefold Flipback Laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' WIDE SPINE' MONO Cover is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only slight corner wear (NOT through the colour), only a VERY few light creases (cover is VERY flat looking!), VERY shiny laminate, and NO writing!!!! The opening edges are beautifully straight with NO feathering!!!! Even the inside of the cover is in SUPERB condition wh NO writing, NO grubbyness, and NO yellowing!!!! The cover must grade Very Good++++ if not better!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS!!!! THIS REALLY HAS TO BE CONSIDERED AS A 'ONCE IN A LIFETIME' OPPORTUNITY TO OWN THE 'EARLIEST' MONO 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
HAVE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES - I DO MY BEST TO SHOW THE RECORD FROM ALL ANGLES AND MAKE THE PICTURES AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE - THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE!!!!
