This is an Early UK Pressing with DARK Green Apple Labels, with Mfd in the UK' text and 'EMI Recording' text on the labels, making this an original 1968 pressing.

ALL EARLY ISSUES OF THE WHITE ALBUM CAME WITH GARROD AND LOFTHOUSE GATEFOLD SLEEVES WITH POSTER AND FOUR COLOUR PRINTS. THE VINYL HAD DARK GREEN LABELS, WITH A SMALL CIRCLED "P" NEXT TO THE DATE (SEE PICTURES) AND Mfd IN THE U.K TEXT.

THE RECORD – NR MINT

A stunning set of glossy vinyls. These records are virtually unplayed, having only been played a couple of times, - gaurenteed!. That means they are virtually unmarked, with only the faintest of handling marks, which can only just be seen under a very strong spot light. A really wonderful set in pristine condition.

This great record set play up to the high visual grading and beyond . Strong, undistorted sound free of any pops, clicks or distortion. Channels are clean and unstressed.

Great audio with minimal interference to distract form the overly enjoyment of this great record and hardly any surface or static noise between the tracks

The music jumps out, with definition and clarity, particularly on the percussion instruments, and vocals which come through with tremendous power. As is the same with the bass guitar and drums, whilst the guitars come through crisp and clear.

Vinyl audio doesn’t get much better than this!

The Beatles, later known as the White Album, had over a quarter of a million advance orders, and of course went straight to number 1. This was the first double album EVER to get to the top slot where it stayed for 7 weeks in a row. It sold so many, that once again The Beatles also made the singles chart, consequently the ONLY double album to ever enter that chart. By the end of the year, just over a month later, the white album had sold over 4,000,000 copies worldwide, and by the end of 1970 global sales were around 6.5 million. At that time this was the biggest selling double album of all time.

The sleeve design was by Richard Hamilton, who suggested the minimalistic approach and the consecutively numbered sleeves which would give a limited edition feel to it. Richard also came up with the montage idea for the large free poster, which included the lyrics on it's rear. The four free colour prints were taken by John Kelly.

THE COVER – EXCELLENT

Comes with the original Side Loading Gatefold Sleeve by GARROD & LOFTHOUSE. It is made in the heavy card with Laminated finish. An un numbered pressing, the title - THE BEATLES - is embossed under the laminate.

The cover has maintained its creamish white sheen, with a solid and totally unbroken readable spine, with NO laminate lifting. The text is clear beneath the laminate, which is extremely rare for any pressing of the White Album. The inside is clean with no feathering to the side openings, which is extremely unusual.

The laminated versions, do have a tendency to ‘yellow’, and this one does have some yellowing near the edges, but it is very faint. Only slight defects are some light extremely laminate indentations and a small scuff on the top rear edge, as shown clearly in the image. This is truly an EXCELLENT cover, with very little to fault it, other than some very light handling marks.

Famous Apple labels are in Near PERFECT Condition, no marks or writing, no discernable spindle wear. Great all round examples, as near to Perfect as you will ever find!

MY RECORD GRADING SYSTEM IS AS FOLLOWS - (BASED ON RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE U.K. )

MINT: Virtually unplayed. The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover is pristine.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

V.G PLUS: The record will still be nice and shiny, but may have a few light marks, and will play well. Slight wear and tear on the cover.

V.G: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, etc.
