Thank you for viewing my listings. I will describe the audio quality as honest as possible and as I hear it. I will be listing some of the albums I have decided to part with here on ebay as well as on my bluesvinyl4u website, while the majority of my albums are blues related from all eras. Please keep looking at my other rare original UK pressings that I have and will be listing soon!

‘Sgt. Pepper’s lonely Hearts Club Band’ was The Beatles ninth official album release and was released on 1st June 1967. The Beatles insisted that the album be issued identically worldwide, so for the first time Capitol in America fell into line and didn't split tracks over different L.P.'s (then again, how could they!

This album sold a quarter of a million copies in Britain in it's first week of release, and by the end of June had topped 500,000 sales. But it didn't sell it's One Millionth copy until April 1973, some 6 years later. The album still appears in the top 20 of most of the World’s top selling albums of all time lists and is the second highest selling album of all time in the UK. It went straight to number 1 and dominated the top slot for the next 23 weeks

The record is the first not to be banded into individual tracks, with hardly any gaps between songs. It was also the first to use the run-out groove, therefore leave the stylus on the record and it would chatter away endlessly.

The cover has a picture montage (but not the Beatles first - check out "Beatles For Sale") by Peter Blake which contains,

57 photographs,  9 waxwork models loaned from Madam Tussaud's,  A Sgt. Pepper drumskin,  A stone bust,

Four Statuettes,  An Idol,  A doll wearing a jumper emblazoned with "Welcome The Rolling Stones" and "Good Guys",

A portable T.V., A Gold award,  A variety of flower arrangements, one spelling "Beatles", and another of a guitar, plus a row of Marijuana plants,

And ... The Beatles.

Other than the waxworks, the other items all came from the personal collections of The Beatles.

The drumskin was painted by a genuine fairground artist, Joe Ephgrave.

The vinyl

Super thick and chunky type of vinyl only found on earliest pressings! This lays perfectly flat on the turntable.

On initial inspection this looks awesome! I can hardly see a blemish Still retains its original sheen from new! Only in strong light can possibly any (very few) light wispy surface marks\scuffs possibly be seen, mainly sleeve removal only and importantly (non) audio sounding that i heard! I can't see any audio sounding marks or scratches. All indications are that this vinyl has been played very little (please see photos)

The Audio Quality

I have played this through track for track prior to listing! at very loud volume on a top system using a dedicated mono cartridge! The audio is rated at the very top on all frequencies! it is awesome! (no) distortion or any signs of any grooveware at all! I heard no clicks or pops and more importantly i heard virtually no background noise at all so common on these early 43 year old Beatles pressings! The album plays almost perfectly on my system! I only heard some very light and occasional static type ticks certainly nothing which spoiled my enjoyment of the music!

The Matrix

Side 1. ''XEX 637-1''

Side 2.  ''XEX 638-1''

The Mother Stampers

Side 1 ''4 '' ''RTG''

Side 2 ''2'' ''RPM''

The Labels

Absolutely top condition! Any spider marks are minimal, only! This has had only bare minimal play only in my opinion!  These feature ''Sold In The UK....'' text across the labels (Only early press) The K.T. tax code is stamped on side 1 around the spindle hole?  There is little if (no) wear around the spindle hole (The hole is perfectly round) superb

The Record Sleeve

This is the original red and white 'Fools Inner' and is in excellent condition in fact almost perfect apart from a minor split to the bottom of the sleeve. A super example.

Cut Out Sheet

This is the original sheet and is in near mint condition with virtually no signs of wear!!

The Cover

This is the original fully laminated inner flipback Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold cover WITH THE RARE 1ST PRESS ONLY "PATENTS PENDING"it has no splits or tears or writing . The front and rear only show a minimal amount of storage wear and only a small area of laminate creasing on the front, which can be seen on one of the photos. Corners have also only a small amount of storage wear and the spine is straight with also only a small amount of storage wear. The inside spread is almost perfect with no marks or writing.
