JOHN LENNON ONCE SAID ''THE ONLY WAY TO HEAR SGT PEPPER IS IN MONO''
ABSOLUTELY CRISTAL CLEAR AND VIBRANT TOP TOP ON ALL FREQUENCIES!!
Another from my personal collection. I have accumilated more than 1000 UK Beatles albums alone over a period of more than 45 years Here is an original 1st UK pressing of The Beatles Sgt Peppers Lonely Harts Club Band Album, mono original! This is very sought after and collectable being totaly complete with the original red and white fools inner and cut outs! (From my personal experience, the earliest produce best audio experience in my opinion) has been play tested at very loud volume on a top system and importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge! This audio is stunning cristal clear and very vibrant throughout and without any annoying nasty loud clicks or pops during the audio and also without distortion which is so often found on these original Beatles records! What makes this so desirable is the absolutely rich and vibrant colours on the gatefold (normally seen very incepede and bland) this is unusually vibrant. Also the vinyl has obviously only had just minimal play only in my opinion,, very desirable to find like this! From my experience these original thick and chunky slabs of vinyl ,(only found on the earliest pressings) produce the best audio experience that can not be surpassed in any other format in my opinion!
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by the British rock band The Beatles. Recorded over a 129-day period beginning on 6 December 1966, the album was released on 1 June 1967 in the United Kingdom and the following day in the United States. Sgt. Pepper is often described as The Beatles' magnum opus, and one of the most influential albums of all time by prominent critics and publications!!!
When Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band was being recorded, "Beatlemania" was waning. The Beatles had grown tired of touring and had quit the road in August 1966. After one particular concert, while being driven away in the back of a small van, the four of them—even Paul McCartney, who was perhaps the most in favour of continuing to tour—decided that enough was enough!!. From that point on the Beatles became an entirely studio-based band.
For the first time in their careers, the band had more than ample time with which to prepare their next record. As EMI's premier act and Britain's most successful pop group they had almost unlimited access to the state of the art technology of Abbey Road Studios. All four band members had already developed a preference for long late night sessions, although they were still extremely efficient and highly disciplined in their studio habits!!!.
George Harrison, the lead guitarist of the Beatles, went on a trip to India to learn to play the sitar, an Indian instrument, with Ravi Shankar, a renowned sitarist. Harrison brought back with him Indian culture and music!!.
Two songs dropped from Sgt. Pepper, "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane", were both recorded in late 1966 and early 1967. Brian Epstein decided that a new single was needed; the two songs were issued as a double-A-sided single in February 1967!!!. In keeping with the group's usual practice, the single tracks were not included on the LP (a decision Martin maintains he regrets to this day). They were released only as a single in the UK at the time, but were included as part of the American LP version of Magical Mystery Tour (which was issued as a 6-track EP in Britain). The Harrison composition "Only a Northern Song" was also recorded during the Pepper sessions but did not see release until January 1969 when the soundtrack album for the animated feature Yellow Submarine was issued!!!!.

The Vinyl
The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable! This is the original 1st issue, thick and chunky type of vinyl only found like this on the earliest pressings. These have deeper grooves and are much more robust than later press! On initial inspection this looks absolutely awesome! This actually gleems! Still retains its natural glossy sheen from new! There are (no) deep audio sounding needle scratches or audio sounding marks at all that I can see that cause any loud clicks or pops during the audio!!
When scrutinised/looked at, under a very strong light there is very (very) few and very light minute surface marks/scratches/scuffs or possibly sleeve removal marks! (no) deep audio sounding marks at all that i can see at least no scratches that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops!
The Audio Quality
I have carefully played this track for track four times, on a top system at very loud volume, importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge prior to listing! The audio is graded very, very near mint throughout! It is quite obvious that from the moment that the needle hits the playing surface that this vinyl has had just minimal play in my opinion. (no) loud clicks or pops certainly (no) skips or jumps, during the play of the audio any static or isolated static crackle or tick was extreemely minimal and far and fewer between, very minor indeed that I heard. THE AUDIO IS CRISTAL CLEAR AND VIBRANT! Most importantly none of the normal horible surface noise can be heard constantly during the audio!,, so common on this pressing! and quite unbeleivable for this earliest and most collectable, being mono, 43 year old Beatles album! I would class myself as highly critical! Please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold of this calaber and you will see that I normally get it right!
Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd static/isolated static crackle or tick perhaps only heard in an isolated quiet places (certainly not consistant through out the audio) ! mainly perhapes caused by dirt or dust build up over the years of laying dormant in my opinion! Please remember that this is a genuine 43 year old vinyl that would have originally have been played on a 43 year old system! A constant clean is recomended before each play! ,, this would drastically reduce this and would greatly improve the audio quality!
I must emphise! THE AUDIO PLAYS THROUGH CRISTAL CLEAR AND VIBRANT WITH ABSOLUTELY (NO) SIGNS OF DISTORTION OR THAT THIS HAS BEEN OVERPLAYED AT ALL! Audio is graded at least excellent plus to very, very near mint on my systems!
The Matrix along with the unbeleibly early mother stampers shows that this is an original early 1st pressing and very collectable!
The labels
Original Parlophone yellow and black 1st issue labels. Features ''Sold In The UK...'' text across the labels (only 1st uk press) ''The Gramophone Co Ltd....'' is featured around the label rim (only 1st press) K.T. tax code is stamped on side 1. (only early press)
Little if no spindle ware the hole is perfectly round and it is obvious to me that this vinyl has only had minimal play only and certainly not been overplayed! Spidering can be seen when angled to the light ,there is little if no spindle ware the hole is perfectly round, very rare to find like this!
The Cover
This is the original Garrod & Lofthouse flip back cover! In superbe condition. With no edge splits or tares. The laminate retains its super glossy appearence. Please note! This cover is not only glossy in appearence but is unusually rich and very vibrant in colour. (very rare to find) many are seen very incepede. This is a lovely copy rich and vibrant in colour. (very rare) Any storageware with age is minimal in my opinion. There is minor small creases only to mention and one at the front near the spine, and minor at the rear. only really noticable if scrutinised in my opinion. (see photos) The cover is very very, respectable strong and very straight as it should be and all writing is fully legable. This must grade at least excellent if not much better in my opinion difficult to find these like this!
Please note! It is the hardest thing to find these complete with the original red and white ''Fools Inner record sleeve'' and the original cut outs!
The Record Sleeve
This is the original 1st issued red and white fools inner record sleeve without splits or tares. Becoming fragile with age and has creasings with age only! This is now always stored seperately from the vinyl and cover.
The Cut outs
These are as new condition and the original!
PLEASE NOTE IT IS THE HARDEST AND RAREST THING TO TRY AND FIND A COVER AND THE RED FOOLS SLEEVE IN THIS CONDITION PLEASE DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE CONDITION AND RARETY.! ON THE WHOLE IT IS QUITE RARE TO FIND AN ORIGINAL COVER IN THIS CONDITION! (THIS VINYL IS NOW STORED SEPERATELY FROM THE COVER)
THE RECORD SLEEVE
