This is a really nice ORIGINAL 1966 U.S. CAPITOL RECORDS MONAURAL LP FROM THE BEATLES TITLED 'YESTERDAY AND TODAY' PACKAGED IN A SECOND STATE (UNPEELED) 'BUTCHER COVER' WITH ABOUT 85% OF ITS ORIGINAL FACTORY SHRINKWRAP STILL SURROUNDING THE COVER.  It is Capitol Records catalog number  T 2553.  The original yellow 'Capitol Records '66: Sounds Great!' inner sleeve with pictures of other then-current Capitol LPs is also still included.  This is the first example of this legendary and much sought-after Beatles collectable that I have had the pleasure to be able to offer during my eleven years as a seller on eBay - I realize that details are important with a high end item like this, I have tried to cover all the bases in my following listing and images - If you need further information please e-mail me and I'll do my best to fully answer any questions.  As can be seen in my accompanying images, Ringo's telltale black turtleneck that is the giveaway sign of a 'butcher cover' being present under the censored top front cover slick is clearly visible at the right side of the cover.  The number '3' appears just to the left of the round RIAA logo at the lower right corner of the back cover.  The factory shrinkwrap is torn away and missing over about 15% of the front cover along its right side as can be seen in the accompanying image of the front cover; all of the back cover shrinkwrap is intact and present.  Overall condition of the cover is really nice at a very conservative high VG+ - The main flaw, which is not really very distracting and does absolutely nothing to impact the front cover, is a small 2-1/4" long x 3/8" wide area at the extreme left edge of the back cover where the top layer of paper is worn away and a previous owner has apparently touched this area up with white-out - I have included an image of this area, showing its size and relationship to the rest of the back cover.  The other very minor flaws are a little bit of very minor wear along the open right-hand edge of the front cover and on the corners on the right-hand edge as can be seen in my image of the front cover, a small very slightly brownish discolored area at the right side of the top border where the catalog number is located, this is apparently the result of the shrinkwrap being missing over this area, and no other flaws worth mentioning.  Here is what this cover DOES NOT HAVE: it has NO SPLITS, NO TEARS, NO WRITING, NO STICKERS, AND NO TORN CORNERS WHERE NO PREVIOUS OWNERS HAVE TRIED TO LIFT THE PASTED OVER FRONT COVER SLICK.  The original 'Capitol Records '66' inner sleeve has small splits in the middle of all three closed edges; I have carefully and neatly repaired these splits with clear tape to prevent further damage; inner sleeve has no other real flaws.  Condition of record is not the best at G/VG, with a fair amount of surface marks which cannot be felt, and some small surface scratches which can be felt and would probably cause ticks - The condition of the record is pretty much immaterial with this item, as the 'butcher cover' is by far the more important collectable aspect of this piece - Moreover, this album without the 'butcher cover' is very common and the record could be easily and cheaply upgraded if the buyer so desires.  I doubt the buyer will buy this LP to listen to, but in case this is a factor here are the tracks: Drive My Car, I'm Only Sleeping, Nowhere Man, Dr. Robert, Yesterday, Act Naturally, And Your Bird Can Sing, If I Needed Someone, We Can Work It Out, What Goes On?, Day Tripper.  Expect bullet-proof elaborate packaging for shipment.  This is a really nice example of what is probably one of the two or three most sought-after 'holy grail' type Beatles collectable records, a SUPER historic conversation piece to frame and display - It would make a much appreciated holiday gift for any Beatles collector, or treat yourself - Either way, a prime addition to any U.S. Beatles record collection!  Winning bidder pays $3.00 media mail postage or actual priority or express mail postage within the U.S, I will cover the cost of insurance.
