Hi, I am Mike, a music collector for over 30 years now. I try, to the best of my ability to describe as accurately and as honesty as I can all items I offer for sale with all the relevant information I can think of to help any interested collector. You may notice I do not flood my Ebay site with large numbers of albums at one time: time does not allow it as I Play-Grade every record I offer (on a Rega 3 deck with Ortofon cartridge) - visuals alone do not always tell a true or full story - I will mention any defects or flaws no matter how small that I notice to be fair as possible to any interested collector. Every record I offer, whether it be a common or rare item deserves the same treatment as far as I am concerned and will be treated with the same respect. All the pictures I use for your guidance are taken with my digital camera or scanned - they are NOT improved, cleaned-up or made better looking than they are with camera trickery or enhancing with digital programmes. Album Title: Revolver

Cat Number: PCS 7009 Stereo.

Label and Condition: Parlophone, yellow and black with silver text. Stunning examples that show only very light spindle traces. Sold in UK etc, Made in Gt Britain. Super clean pair with again, like the ‘Pepper’ on off also, no finger marks on the beautiful matt black. Similarly also the heavily embossed KT tax codes stand very proud and are still virtually black and unworn, small traces of ink removal only. Even a few trips to the turntable or simply taking the record out of the bag takes the ink of these making them appear fully white. Many infact are completely flattened and eventually fade away, these are crystal clear and sharp and dark (Please see scans for all label details, note how clean these are and those tax codes).

Rarity Factor: Very early press originals are always rare in superb condition.

Original Year of Release: 1966

Matrix Nos: YEX 605-1 and YEX 606-1. The tiny pressing numbers appear to be 1 and 3, always quite hard to see as so small but these look clear to me.

Album Information: Its always a huge matter of debate and strong opinion which is the best of The Beatles albums, well Revolver has to be a strong contender - its marks the transition from pop to a more mature sound with greater emphasis on experimentation - there were hints of this on the previous album Rubber Soul also. But now things were starting to move apace and how. This copy on offer is another wonderful virtually unplayed copy. I am reliably told by the owner this was played twice before putting to reel-to-reel tape (the very modest spindle traces would confirm this). I played once for my usual play-grade too. As stated many times by myself Beatles albums are not rare, but finding copies in superb condition that play close to new certainly are. Original stereo copies are always extra special too - in 1966 mono was the more common format, but mono records in supreme playing condition are priceless too. Mono vs Stereo, well lets face it both are essential, the stereo mix on this masterpiece is sublime, another work of genius by George Martin. This is a fine clean copy and the cover is nice too but has a crease, full details of this package are below:

Cover Condition and Details: Excellent++, single, laminated front, stereo on top right, three flipbacks (f/b), Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd, Patents pending. PMC 7009 PCS 7009. Use New EMITEX Record Cleaner advert on the back. A super cover, still pure white, the only flaw is a ‘knock crease’ on the bottom left front, this has put a small blister in the laminate too. This may all sound drastic but believe me its only relatively minor, I would doubt if the scan has even seen it - my regular buyers will know how fussy I am and sometimes exaggerate flaws to my own detriment, but I prefer it that way than ignore them. This is such a stunning item all round any flaw has to be mentioned, bar this lightish crease this cover would have been graded mint because its wonderful.

Cover Lamination: Front only, apart the aforementioned blister near the bottom corner - perfection. Stunning mirror-like laminate that is as shiny as the day it was bought. No marks or nasty indents, only the odd hairline crease apart from the corner again. No lifting or peeling and whiter than white - this has not been living with a smoker, so none of that dreaded yellowing effect.

Cover Front: Beautiful, viewed under normal conditions this simply looks close to new, the smallish corner flaw only really shows when viewed at an angle. Super clean and unworn. Stunning artwork by Klaus Voorman, this beautiful example does this landmark cover near full justice.

Cover Back: Pristine, stunning and near impossible to find in this condition. Unlaminated, black and white and always prone to rubbing and severe discolouration. This is superb, no rubbing at all, the black areas are still jet black - fact, its amazing. The f/bs are rock solid with no lifting or freying and do NOT have that ‘end of laminate’ black lines that usually appear on these types. There is NO ringwear and any creasing is tiny and minimal. A prime example of fragile back cover.

Cover Edges: All edges on this one are close to new with know wear at all, all still laminated. The entry edge is pristine and sharp with no hint of any feathering. The very important spine is close to perfect and has been affected little by the corner knock. Still square and sharp, all its text is pristine perfect under the uncracked laminate. All corners are sharp and are again virtually wearless. All still clearly pointed with only traces of any creasing. All round this important landmark cover is superb, not quite perfect as stated but most collectors of this classic would probably like one half as good. This should please most if not maybe the perfectionists who want ‘as new’ at any price.

Vinyl Condition: Visually: side one - Mint (A term I dont use lightly, but justified on this side). Side two - Mint(-) (one small hairline, NO sound whatsoever). A stunningly clean example of this vital record. One small light mark thats does not sound at all and nothing else could I see. Both sides are stunningly clean and shiny and the record is pressed on very solid vinyl - I have rarely ever seen a vintage copy of a Beatles LP this clean (except the mint Sgt Pepper mono I am also offering at present). My play-grade was heavenly: the only detrimental thing I can say about it was a one groove sound on track two, maybe a piece of dust lodged in the groove but nothing seen - if thats all I can find fault with does that tell how wonderful this record is? I can simply say with truthful honesty the sound from this record is breathtaking: I have never heard Revolver with such clarity and detail. The stereo mix is sublime, there is not even the remotest hint of distortion or sound degrading at all. All the high frequencies are crystal clear. Surface noise is virtually non-existent - you listen to this one in almost virgin state, you will not want to hear second-rate CD versions again. All the feeling is lost, as well as much of the intricate fine details lodged in these vintage grooves. This is how George Martin and the fab four wanted you to hear this record - you cannot match perfection. This record is so clear it takes you right into the recording studio. You will hardly ever see this masterpiece in this condition and I gurantee it sounds just as good as it looks - this is investment quality and should please even the most critical collectors.

Final Summary: The words ‘classic’ and ‘masterpiece’ and ‘essential’ are very much overused, maybe by myself sometimes. But in this case all three are totally justified and beyond dispute. This has to be a contender for the greatest album ever made - its importance is vast - it goes without saying it charted at number 1 in the UK and US. This is a stunning vintage early pressing, one that will not be offered much better often. Without that small knock on the cover (and I mean small) this would almost grade as mint all round. Just how many copies of this do you see virtually unmarked? The labels are stunning (I even wore gloves just to keep the finger marks of that matt black ink). The normal for this is tatty creased covers with rubbing and marks (and yellowing). Vinyl with a maze of scratches, fingerprints and dull bland vinyl that often plays as bad as it looks. Labels that look like spiders’ webs. Well this is the other end of the spectrum - all looks close to new and sounds just that. I conclude this summary by quoting from the Virgin all-time 1000 Albums (its position is FIRST). ‘Music critics have always preferred Revolver to its famous successor, while fans were at first a little wary of the brilliantly bizarre ‘Tomorrow never Knows’, the eastern promise of ‘Love you to’ or the goodtime brass of ‘Got to get you into my life’. Years of repeated listening unfolds quiet gems such as Harrison’s exceptional “I want to tell you’ and Lennon’s wondrously hazy ‘I’m only sleeping’, or as he sings ‘I’m only seeping’. McCartney was also on a creative roll with the unabashed and brave romanticism of ‘Here there and everywhere’ and the classical sadness of ‘Eleanor Rigby’. Subtly original and beautifully recorded. A shamelessly perfect record. - I can add little to that – Mike.

USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and other Far Eastern countries etc: £5.50. This is covered up to £28 (43 US Dollars) insurance and would be sent 1st-class airmail. Please note I do not profit on postage (my packing standards are high and the package weighs a little more).

Extra insurance is available for non-UK items but bear in mind I have to state the true value of the item on the parcel and customs would be aware and you may well get charged import duties.

Mailing Details: All records are sent in plastic covers with the record taken out of the sleeve and sent in professional mailers with a minimum of TWO stiffners for extra protection. More expensive items are also inserted into a de-luxe heavy duty padded bag AS WELL to give that extra protection and three or four stiffners. I truly want ALL my items to arrive to their destination in the same condition they leave me.
