This is one of the first ever copies of Revolver.

Not only does it feature the desirable first matrix XEX 606-1 with the hastily withdrawn version of 'Tomorrow Never Knows', it also has the first mother and first stamper.  One of the absolute earliest ever copies.

Detailed description
Sleeve: Printed and made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. This is really nice and clean with no damage, writing, splits, tears or stickers etc and just light signs of use. The laminated front has a few laminate creases, mainly near the spine. The unlaminated rear has just a hint of ring wear and a few marks. The flipbacks are all fully intact and complete with no problems.
Edge wear: top/opening/spine/bottom: none/minimal/none/none. The spine is fully legible and there is just some light feathering at the opening.
Corner wear: minimal to the top corners and moderate to the bottom.
Vinyl: The vinyl is perfectly flat and has retained its original high sheen.  Under bright light, fine hairlines, scuffs and marks were visible on either side as well as some small scratches, none of which are significant. I have played the entire LP and it plays through perfectly with no jumps, skips or sticking. There is surface noise and crackle audible in the quiet passages and the run-ins/outs, fades, silent grooves and intros, and some quiet clicks but none of them are loud or persistent. They are generally very soft and/or only audible in one channel or in the fade, silent groove or intro. None of them last longer than half-a-dozen revolutions except for one in 'Taxman' which lasts for twelve and one in 'I’m only sleeping' which lasts for eight. But there is absolutely nothing loud or intrusive. The only other thing I noticed (as this is an original 'loud-cut' mono pressing) was a small amount of top-end distortion during parts of 'Got to get you into my life', but this was emphasised by the fact that I was using headphones and, again, was unobtrusive. This is a great, playable example of one of the very first ever copies of Revolver and it can be listened to and enjoyed all the way through with no problems.
Labels: The labels have no damage, tears, stickers etc and just typical spindle marking. There is a name written on one side but it is in the black part of the label and you need to tilt it in the light to see it. The KT tax code is on the side one label.
Inner sleeve: Original plain inner sleeve, says 'Patent applied for' and 'Made in England'. It is flat, clean and undamaged apart from a seam split in one side.
Other inserts: n/a

Detracting features not covered above - None. This is a really great example of one of the earliest ever copies of this famous rarity.

Information about descriptions.
My records are always described accurately and fairly. I always do my best to point out any blemishes which might detract from the item and all photographs are of the actual item you will get.

Visually-graded vinyl: Unless stated in the listing, vinyl is visually graded. I play-grade records where possible but I don't have time to play them all. I will not usually play-grade records which look near mint or unplayed, unless they are particularly rare.

Play-graded vinyl: I will always state in the listing if I have played a record prior to describing it. When I play a record I listen to it carefully through headphones with the bass and treble adjusted to expose unwanted noise. I play it all the way through (unless stated otherwise) and take notes of any noise, clicks, distortion etc which I then use to write my description. Please note that in some cases my notes may be made several weeks before the record is listed on ebay.

First pressings and originals: Many of the records I sell are first pressings and I will usually include the relevant matrix information etc in the description. However, I can't be an expert on every artist/group and so sometimes I will use the word 'original' to identify a pressing which I think is a first pressing, but don't know for sure (but which is certainly NOT a recent pressing or audiophile release etc). If you specifically want a first pressing, and know how to identify it, please ask the relevant questions before you bid.

POSTAGE & PACKING

I care about the records I sell and believe that they need to be carefully and securely packaged to ensure that they survive their journey through the post. Vinyl is removed from the sleeve for posting and the contents will be protected with rigid cardboard stiffeners. All packages are labelled "Do not bend" and securely sealed with "FRAGILE" parcel tape.

Double LPs will be charged as two LPs.

UK P&P costs

UK Standard service - items are sent quickly and securely using first class recorded post, which includes insurance up to £41. The cost for this is as follows:

First LP or 12" = £3.80, each additional LP or 12" add £0.80

First 7" or CD = £1.90, each additional 7" or CD add £0.50


UK Fully insured service - Any order valued over £41 will be sent fully insured using Royal Mail Special Delivery and the total cost of this will be £7.50.  Multiple-item orders weighing more than 1kg or items valued over £500 will cost slightly more to insure, so please wait for my invoice before paying.


UK Economy service - If the value of your order is below £10 you can choose to have your item sent by standard second class post (unrecorded). However, please be aware that this service can take up to a week to reach you and in the event of a claim for loss or damage, Royal Mail will not reimburse the full value of your order. The cost for this is as follows:

First LP or 12" = £3.00, each additional LP or 12" add £0.70

First 7" or CD = £1.10, each additional 7" or CD add £0.45

Insurance

For overseas orders, I include insurance on all invoices. This is additional to the costs above. If your order is valued under £10 you can request a new invoice without insurance (but in the event of a claim for loss or damage, Royal Mail will not reimburse the full value). Overseas orders valued over £10 will ONLY be sent fully insured.

Insurance costs are additional to the airmail costs above and are as follows:

• Overseas orders valued up to £41 will be insured for an additional £4.25
• Overseas orders valued between £41 and £500 will be insured for an additional £6.75
• Overseas orders valued over £500, please contact me.

Overseas orders weighing more than 2kg will be split into two or more packages as appropriate so they can be sent using Royal Mail's Small Packet Rate, so please wait for my invoice on larger multiple purchases.
