I'm not even going to discuss the music, it's genius, we all know that. I had trouble identifying the exact release and decided the easiest thing would be to give the following description....
Second UK mono pressing (1966 until 1969).
Rim text on the labels starts with “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.”, “Sold In The UK Subject top Resale Price Conditions, See Price Lists” text across the labels, "Made in Gt. Britain" at the centre of the bottom of the label, though a slight shift in some text elements have led to slightly different spacings (see photos).
"Dr. Robert" on the sleeve, and "Doctor Robert" on the label.
"Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd."
Laminated front flipback sleeve.
There is NO K T tax code embossed stamp present on the label.
Credits on label are (songwriters)-singer (e.g. (Lennon-McCartney)-Ringo Starr)
Matrix / Runout (Side 1): XEX 605-2 Matrix / Runout (Side 2): XEX 606-2 What follows these numbers is small and hard to make out. I think it's RMD on side 1 and RDO on side 2 but, with my eyes, I can't swear to it!
Inner sleeve is "British Patent No. 800513 & 973939" one with holes, though the poly-liner has disappeared.
CONDITION
Sleeve: Good. Please see detailed photos. Front is pretty bright but quite a bit of wear to edges, corners, spine, the folds of the flipback on the rear. The worse damage is probably a very small tear to rear sleeve where record goes in. Also weird small splits in the enamel at its edges and someone has managed to write inside the sleeve. There is also some creasing to the front of the sleeve, which is hard to catch as a photo. In short... it's a put it in a poly outer sleeve job!
Inner sleeve: VG, clean and intact but, as I said, the poly-liner fell out some time ago and there's a small tear from the centre hole at one side (pictured).
Labels: Plenty of spindle action and a few marks. There is a thin red pen mark on side 2, though you can only really see the bit which intrudes onto the yellow trademark graphic.
Vinyl: VG+. There are numerous light marks and scuffs but only a few times do these translate into pops (and even then they're light ones). There is light surface but it's not constant and it's more of a "well played" sound (most evident at start of sides), though there are also very clean periods. The sound is generally a punchy mono which mostly overrides all this, making for a decent listen.

PLEASE NOTE: I do not "sight-test" records and list with comments like "vinyl looks to be in good condition". This is because a disc can look perfect but still have surface noise throughout (as I've found on too many occasions). All my records are played from start to finish on a fairly unforgiving Sansui deck fitted with an Ortofon cartridge and stylus.
