Description

BEATLES - PLEASE PLEASE ME RARE BLACK & GOLD PARLOPHONE LABEL

PMC 1202

This is the version with the Northern Songs credits to the labels.

Cover is the correct E J Day version with the Angus McBean photo credit to the extreme bottom right of front (beware of sleeve switching with E J Day sleeves from later yellow and black label records, where the photo credit is not quite as far to the right). Cover is in excellent condition overall. There is some scuffing to all corners, edges are in good condition ('Please please me - the Beatles' down the spine is really nice, totally undamaged.) Someone has written 30/11 in the top left hand rear corner (may have been the price?) see photos. Part of flipback to top right rear missing, see photos. Lower flipback has been taped in place and the tape has discoloured. Overall the cover is far better than many of the examples you see with this record.

Record is contained in the correct 'Use EMITEX' inner sleeve with poly liner bag. This is in excellent condition with minimal creasing and no tears.

Labels are in excellent condition. No writing, minimal spindle wear, I have included photos of the labels in natural light and also under artificial light. Embosse MT tax code on side 1.

Matrix number XEX 421-1N on side 1, stampers 1T. XEX 422-1N on side 2, stampers 1H.

Record surface is in very good condition. There are several light scratches to each side visible if you hold the record up against a strong light and on playing the record there is the occasional light click here and there as a result. Record sounds excellent with no jumping, no skipping, no getting stuck. No heavy scratches. Record is flat with no warping.

Overall this is a really nice example of an extremely rare record.

All photos are of the item for sale.

Will be packaged in record mailer with stiffeners.

Postage prices reflect inclusion of insurance cost and signed for postage.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I accept payment by cheque in £ from UK buyers if you prefer. Cheque needs to clear before posting record.
