Description
Today we auction another record we found in a large box with other records (mostly Beatles, Jethro Tull, Cream). We decided to continue with this one as we found several copies some mono and some stereo. This one is mono. We will try to describe it as thoroughly as we can. We are not professionals and not Beatles experts so feel free to ask as many questions as you wish.
Cover is in very nice shape for its age. Just some light damage to the lower right corner and to the lower flipback.
Both labels are clean.
Side 1 looks played but without scratches or marks. We played it this morning and sounds ok. Just some light crackle between tracks. matrix XEX 421 1N 2RR
Side 2 looks and plays as side 1. has a couple of scratches. matrix XEX 422 1N 1RR
If you have any questions please ask. We only ship registered. Insurance at cost if requested. If you win more than one item you pay just for one shipping. We will take all the necessary care to pack the records.
On 03-May-11 at 11:19:11 BST, seller added the following information:We thank you all e-bay users that tried to help us understand what we are offering in this auction!
This is a very rare album with crossover black and gold labels. Fery few copies present this atypical labelling. Some say it was due to a change in publishing arrangements and others say it was because George Martin made an error when submitted the track details to the record company. This copy has perfect clean and readable labels.
Credits for "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Misery" are from Northern Songs Ltd. on the Side 1 label;
Credits for "Do You Want To Know A Secret" and "There's A Place" are from Dick James Mus. Co. on the Side 2 lavel;
So these details show this is a transition copy between the first and second UK press!
Cover has the Photo: Angus McBean writing in the lower right corner; on lower back flip there is the writing Printed and Made by Ernst J. Day & Co. Ltd. London.
It does have the "emitex" inner sleeve in pristine condition.
Matrix nubers are XEX 421 1N for side 1 and XEX 422 1N for side 2
Stampers are 2RR for side 1 and 1RR for side 2
