'GOLD' 1st pressing (i.e. the cover that came with the earliest Gold & Black label pressings) E J Day cover with Angus McBean credit to the far right i.e. under the 's' in songs rather than under the 'g' and with the large mono in top right corner of front cover and the triple rear 'flat' flip-backs.
1st Yellow & black label pressing without the small 331/3 and without the "Recording first published.." and with "The Parlophone Co.." label text.
Record Collector Rare Record Guide 2014 refers to this as the 'fourth' pressing and values it at £120. The 2012 Record Collector Guide referred to it as the 'third' pressing.
Cover: No writings or doodles - which is rare in itself as these covers are normally covered in messages of love to one or other of The Beatles. Some light laminate creasing, small sellotape residue and some edge/spine wear. The rear has some staining in top corner.
Original EMITEX poly-lined inner sleeve: Near Excellent.
Labels: Excellent+. No writings, stickers or doodles.
Vinyl: Play tested. Thick heavy duty vinyl. No skips or jumps. Looks Near Excellent with a really nice sheen and some minor marks/smudges; and it plays Excellent to Excellent+. No skips/jumps and hardly any background noise at all. A real testament to the quality of these early Beatles LPs. Fabulous mono sound.

Gradings.......
Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.
Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is little lessening in sound quality.
Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.
Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.
Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.
Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc
Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
