TITLE/ARTIST: Hello and please continue to check out all current and future listings as everything from my personal collection - Beatles and more - will eventually come up for sale - good records from the '50's, '60's, and much more - all are "oldies" and most all in great shape! Here is one of those unusual, super rare and highly collectible LP`s highlighting the original drummer of the Beatles, Pete Best. I don't know for sure that this is the actual five (5) Beatles doing the singing on this record, but I guess it could be - I'll let you bidders educate me with this one. However, I do know that Pete Beat was the group's very 1st drummer until he was eventually replaced by Ringo Starr and that the 5th Beatle on the jacket's front cover is Stu Sutcliffe, who was also an original member of the group - back when they were known as either 1) Johnny and The Moon Dogs or 2) The Silver Beatles. This LP is pressed on the orange, Savage Records label from back in 1966, and to my knowledge, was the only LP that includes their first drummer, Pete Best. FYI, I have also listed the only other Beatles LP released on this Savage Label in this weeks auction as well - that one is entitled, "The Savage Young Beatles" from 1964 and also features Pete Best on the drums. Savage Records was one of those record labels that tried to jump on the Beatles' huge success wagon as they hit the "big time" in 1964. It is yet another album of mine in very good overall condition - although not perfect by any means (please read on). This LP is entitled "Best Of The Beatles" (with a little play on words there), and features 12 (twelve) very good, early songs - with Pete Best on the drums. Again, I can't say for certain that these are the actual Beatles singing these songs, but there are vocals here and nowhere does anything say otherwise, so......... All of the titles are visible in the pictures above - and all songs are in original MONO, not to mention they are also in very nice shape (again, please see the pictures above for all song titles and read on for more details). LABEL INFO: This original, Savage Label (BM 71) is in great shape with no real issues - I don't even see many spindle lines around the center circle, which indicates to me that it had very limited play. VINYL INFO: Likewise, the vinyl is also very shiny, clean, and nice with again, nothing in serious need of a mention, although there are just a couple light, and totally uneventful, surface/paper lines on either side. Other than this however, in my opinion the vinyl looks almost as good as the day it was 1st purchased - and again was likely played very sparingly. JACKET INFO: Finally, although the jacket is also mostly quite good, it does have a couple of flaws in need of mentioning. There is some creasing/wrinkling along the open seam of the back side only, some definite signs of early aging throughout the darker areas of the front side, and some very light signs of ring wear in just a couple of other places. To me, all of these issues seem to be rather minor in the whole scheme of things, but they are there nonetheless. INTERESTING FACTS: Although everything here isn't 100% perfect, nothing is really all that bad either. So, please have at it and continue to check this site for more Beatles - and more - "oldies" from my personal collection - and I never use any "reserve prices". As I have already mentioned, over time I am selling off my entire collection, and there are 100's more to get to yet -- of all genre's, sizes, and varieties. Many of these still to be listed records are rare and hard to find, and most all of them are in near mint shape. So again, please bookmark my site and check it out from time to time.
