You are bidding on a sealed copy of The Beatles Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane on Apple Records 5810 housed in an mid-70’s “Oldies” package. Record is unplayed. Layout of back cover may vary slightly from photo.
In the 1970's, record stores in small and medium markets (where records were sold primarily at discount chain stores such as K-Mart and TG&Y) only had room to stock the current Top 40 singles. J.I. Marsh Inc. came up with the idea of selling older singles in packaging that could fit into the LP racks and made deals to purchase unsold stock from most major US labels. They partnered with Pickwick for distribution. Apple/Capitol was one of their clients.
