MEET THE BEATLES
RARE VERY FIRST U.S. PRESSING
CAPITOL T 2047 - JANUARY 20, 1964!
Here is a super addition to your Beatles collection! The winner of this auction gets the following:
A January 20, 1964 U.S. original VERY FIRST PRESSING of MEET THE BEATLES - the very first Capitol T 2047 Beatles LP! The 47-year-old whole package - cover, record, and inner sleeve are in very good condition!!
This is a truly rare first pressing - it is an East Coast cover, with #3 RIAA, no producer credit on the back cover, and no publishing credits on both labels! Labels without these credits are significantly rarer than the next pressings!!
- Front Cover: looks very acceptable - some faint evidence of ringwear in the dark color; small sticker residue in top right corner; some corner bumping; spine has very tiny bits of paper loss on ends; very small 1/3" line "scuff" on bottom; minor creasing; absolutely NO seam splits!
- Back Cover: very white; faint evidence of ringwear
- Record: various whisps and superficial light scratches - nothing feelable
- Labels: so subsidiary print; no publishing credits after any song; one very small needle line from spindle on side two; some cover scuffing
- Inner sleeve - original blue sleeve is in excellent condition: some darkening along edges and one very small typical seam split on bottom
ALL IN ALL, A VERY ACCEPTABLE PACKAGE - ESPECIALLY IF YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO OWN A FIRST PRESSING OF THIS LP AT A VERY REASONABLE STARTING BID!
