MEET THE BEATLES JUKEBOX COMPACT 33 CAPITOL SXA 2047, STEREO RELEASED:  JANUARY 1964 SLEEVE AND DISC INCLUDED
ACTUAL SCANS
These Compact 33's rarely come up on eBay with the cover and disc included.
During the sixties, Capitol issued Stereo Compact 33 Discs of some of the label's most popular albums for jukebox play.  These 7" records had a small center hole and played at 33 1/3 RPM.  These mini-albums were normally programmed with three songs from the album on each side of the disc.  The songs featured on the Compact 33 records were often unavailable in the 45 singles format.  These discs were housed in a cardboard jacket, which had a miniature reproduction of the album cover on the front and a blank white back side.
Capitol produced three Beatles Compact 33's starting with Meet The Beatles, then the Beatles Second Album and Something New being the third.  All three were manufactured by Capitol's Scranton, PA factory.
As these records were intended for jukebox only play, they are seldom found in respectable condition.  Here is a wonderful example of the very first Beatles Compact 33 - Meet the Beatles that was released in January, 1964 at the time of the release of the LP album.
The condition of the cover is terrific (EX+) with the minor ring wear that is common on the front cover of this Compact 33 cardboard sleeve (unlike the subsequent two Beatles Compact 33's).  The boarders are sharp and clean.  The back side remains fairly clean with some very minor aging for its 52 years.
The Compact 33 is produced with the Capitol Black labels, the outer rim color band and the Capitol logo at the bottom.  The condition of the disc is Mint minus with the labels being very clean
