So, up for auction is a ultra rare MONO vinyl pressing of the Beatles’ La Banda Del Sargento Pepper [Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band] album that Odeon Records released in Argentina on the black and yellow Odeon “Pops” label with white and silver writing, correct ALTA FIDELIDAD description and NO word ESTEREO added, MONO Cat No LDS 2141, Matrix Nos YEX 637 [A side] and YEX 638 [B side, both machine - stamped] pressed on thick quality vinyl and housed into a NOT gatefold but single?pocket, laminated on front - ONLY cover with both the Cat Nos for MONO [LDS 2141] and for, the more common, STEREO [SLDS 2141] printed on the upper right corner on the back!

As with all the release from Argentina at the time, all the song titles are translated into Spanish followed by the original English titles in brackets:

IMPORTANT NOTICES : [1] As the black and yellow label style was being used from mid - 1964 until early 1972, I can NOT tell if this is an original 1st pressing copy from the 14th of July 1967. The word Standard is missing from the labels of this very copy, but I do NOT know if the copies with the Standard word came before or after  the ones without - if anyone knows, please, let me know too … [2]The Matrix Nos on the labels are XEX 637 / XEX 638 and the Matrix Nos on the run - outs are : YEX 637 / YEX 638  [3] Both the Cat Nos for MONO [LDS 2141] and for STEREO [SLDS 2141] are printed on the back cover instead of … having a stereo sticker placed on the cover? [4] The more common STEREO copies had the word ESTEREO added to the label. [5]The black and white - with signs of creasing, tearing and handling - Odeon company [G] inner sleeve that this very copy was found with is a one from the early 70s for sure as, among other albums it advertises the Abbey Road and Let It Be plus Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr’s solo lps … [6] NO “cut-outs” card insert was found in this very copy - I do NOT know if, originally, there was one too…  [7] Of course, the songs are NOT sang in Spanish…

This copy for sale is an Argentine issue in MONO. This, difficult to find in any condition and RARELY SEEN on eBay, must have item  - best suited to a collector of Beatles memorabilia for filler or display purposes - does not get offered up too often. So, do not miss …

Grading:I use the GOLDMINE standards for grading STRICTLY & CONSERVATIVELY  the condition of the items listed. The grading is mostly visual, though I d? “spot check” each of the songs.
