Description

BEATLES LP 1964 BEATLES FOR SALE MONO Y/B PARL PMC 1240

On offer is The BEATLES LP entitled BEATLES FOR SALE released in the UK in MONO on the yellow / black PARLOPHONE label PARLOPHONE PMC 1240 in 1964.

This is a nice example of this 1st press mono LP – with a lovely EX to EX- condition sleeve and an EX to EX+ disc.

This is the FIRST PRESSING  yellow/black MONO identified as correctly having the following credits - ‘THE PARLOPHONE CO. LTD’ , ‘RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964’, & ‘SOLD IN UK…’ text. It also has the Garrod  & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve with outline ‘mono’ on the front cover and its original ‘USE  EMITEX’ inner.

This 1st press mono is described as follows –

·         The GATEFOLD SLEEVE is in EX to EX- condition – it has been kept in a plastic cover for many years and has been very well looked after over the years. It has no writing or marks on it. There it a small tear at the bottom of the spine between the edge of the outer and inner gatefold. There are some minor creases: but overall this is a very nice picture sleeve cover with no ring wear evident. I have kept it on plastic sleeve for the past 30 years or so that I have owned it.

·         The disc has nice clear, clean vinyl with a nice sheen to it and is graded visually as EX bordering EX+. It is a lovely disc!

·         The matrix numbers of the disc are XEX 503-4N & XEX 503-3N.

·         I have test played the LP for this auction (for the first time in many years!) and both sides of the disc play EX throughout with a full dynamic range on my hi-fi.

·         The disc has lovely clear labels – with no writing or marks at all. It does have some spindle wear.

·         The LP has its original ‘USE EMITEX’ Parlophone inner which is creased but is intact / no seam splits. This original sleeve is in VG condition. Ever since I purchased this LP many years ago I have kept the disc housed in a plain white inner. Both inners will be supplied.

·         This LP has been really well looked after over all these years as part of my personal collection of Beatles LPs.

Overall this is a very nice EXCELLENT condition example of this 1st press mono LP from 1964.
