LOOKS BARELY EVER PLAYED A HANDFUL OF TIMES EVER (UNBELEIVABLE IN 38 YEARS) !

This is another from my personal collection of beatles records, I have been collecting Beatles UK vinyl for more than 35 years and have accumilated more than 1000 UK Beatles albums alone! This album on offer is noted as a 1st press transitional pressing! Initially released for a short period with matrix endings -2u on both sides in a boxed set in the UK! Please note also during this period of the 1st initial boxed set,, the vinyls also featured -2u and -3u matrix I can confirm this because I have three original box sets with the same matrixes! This was also quickly changed to 3u 3u matrix and later press have lighter apple logos on side 1. The other very important feature is that these originals have the original thick and chunky\heavier type of vinyl which certainly produce  much better\in fact the best audio quality!! There are very slight charactoristics to the covers that confirm that this is also an early copy. Only the earliest covers have rounded spines (without ) pinched end corners! Later press covers are square spines and have pinched end corners. This cover also would be the 1st to be issued after the red apple logo at the rear of the cover, (the 1st to be issued with the green apple logo) I must stress how rare they are to find in this truly stunning condition! Also the fact that I have stored this album in a case for at least 25 years with the vinyl seperated from the sleeve and cover for protection, this is how I have always stored my vinyls! The vinyls playback is flawless absolutely as good as it gets on any vinyl! Near perfect\mint of my systems not a crackle tick or pop to be heard cristal clear and vibrant on all frequencies!!!To find any 38 year old original Beatles album like this is becoming virtually impossible to find and are so sought after and very highly collectable like this!!!!

Let It Be is the final original album released by The Beatles. It was released on May 8, 1970 by the band's own Apple Records label, shortly after the group's announced breakup!!!

Most of Let It Be was recorded in January 1969, before the recording and release of the album Abbey Road. The Beatles were unhappy with the album and it was temporarily shelved. Let It Be was later 're-produced' by Phil Spector in 1970.!!!!!

By late 1968, Paul McCartney was eager for the Beatles to perform live again, more than two years after they gave up touring. But McCartney wanted the group to make a grand statement, or rather something unorthodox. At the time, there was a great deal of tension among the Beatles, who had been pursuing a number of personal projects over the course of the previous six months!!!.

The group began rehearsals at Twickenham Studios on 2 January 1969. No multi-track recordings were made of these sessions, as the Beatles were rehearsing for the live show rather than attempting to record an album. (Despite this, there are widely available bootlegs taken from the mono recordings that were synchronized to the film cameras.) A number of possible locations for the live show were discussed during the Twickenham rehearsals, with the leading candidates being a Roman amphitheatre in North Africa or a cruise ship. At one point, Lennon sarcastically suggested that they perform in "an insane asylum"!!!.

Everyone involved in the Twickenham rehearsals considered them to be disastrous. By the third day of rehearsal the group openly discussed whether they should break up. Lennon had all but withdrawn creatively from the Beatles, seldom contributing even to the arrangements of his own songs. Harrison was increasingly resentful; while he was treated respectfully by musical colleagues such as Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton, when working within the Beatles his songs usually were either derided or ignored. McCartney's attempts to hold the band together and rally spirits came across as controlling. The constant presence of Lennon's companion and artistic partner Yoko Ono -- who often spoke on Lennon's behalf as he sat silently by -- was a major source of tension. The intrusive film cameras and the cold, unfamiliar settings of Twickenham Studios also contributed to ill feelings. Finally, Harrison became fed up with Lennon's creative and communicative disengagement from the band, and on 10 January announced that he was "leaving the band now". Within a few days Harrison was persuaded to return to the group, who moved to their own Apple Studios!!!.

Multi-track recording began when the group moved to Apple Studios on 22 January, continuing until 31 January Harrison brought in keyboardist Billy Preston to ease tensions and supplement the band for the live performances. Preston worked with the Beatles from 22–31 January!!!.

The live concert idea culminated with the Beatles and Preston performing 30 January on the rooftop of the Beatles' Apple Building at 3 Savile Row before a small audience of friends and employees. The performance was cut short by the police after complaints about noise. The complete concert has circulated amongst bootleg collectors for many years. Three numbers recorded at the rooftop concert, namely Dig a Pony, I've Got a Feeling, and One After 909, do appear on the album, while several spoken parts of the concert appear between tracks that were recorded in studio!!!.

The Vinyl

This is the heavy thick and chunky type of vinyl (only found on 1st initial batch of pressings) These have deeper grooves and are much more robust than later press!!!

On initial inspection I can't see a blemish!! This looks like a new vinyl!  Absolutely super glossy appearance! Only in strong light could possibly and \very few light whispy sleeve removal marks be seen only! Absolutely remarkable for this mega rare early pressed vinyl! I have played this vinyl through track for track on a top system at very loud volume and in my opinion this is  as good as it gets!!! Superbe cristal clear and vibrant on all frequencies (no)ticks, clicks or pops and no crackle (or static) absolutely (no) signs of distortion or that this has been overplayed at all on my systems!! looks and sounds barely ever played at all!!!! Please note!  THIS AUDIO WILL BE VERY HARD TO SURPASS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME PERFECT MINT AUDIO ON MY SYSTEMS!!UNBELEIVABLE 38 YEARS OLD, LIKE THIS!!

.

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd light static crackle\tick perhapes only heard during quiet places! Please remember that this is a genuine 39 year old original vinyl that would have originally been played on a 39 year old system!!!! In my opinion this audio is absolutely up there at the very top of any grading system!!NEAR PERFECT!

The labels

These are the original and earliest (DARK APPLE LABEL) superbe condition! Only angled in strong light can any \minimal indeed spider marks be seen (THIS LOOKS IN MY OPINION BARELY EVER PLAYED) VERY VERY RARE INDEED! Only angled to the light can i see some grubby marks that could possibly be cleaned off but to be honest you relly have to look for it to notice! DARK GREEN apple labels are the first and original to be issued for this album! Very rare to find in this condition!! !

The Record sleeve

This is the original plain white patented sleeve ''made in England' no splits or tares!

The cover

This is the original 1st press fully laminated GARROD & LOFTHOUSE COVER!!! Features the GREEN APPLE LOGO at the rear rarely ever seen in this awesome condition! Bare minimal laminate creases at the rear (please note these are only creases in the laminate not in the actual cover and does not protrude to the front! (please see the close up photo?) This has its original SUPER GLOSSY APEARANCE! UNBELEIVABLE (see photos) Very light rinware can only really be seen angled to the light! (THIS COVER BEING PRIMARILY BLACK IN COLOUR IS SO DIFICULT TO FIND IN THIS AWESOME CONDITION BELEIVE ME!!) Points to note! please look at the spine This has not been crushed with age! Only the earliest of these covers had flatish rounded spines !!! (later press covers feature flat end spines with pinched ends) THIS COVER IS MEGA RARE! and would be the 1st of this cover issue with the green apple logo at the rear!
