LET IT BE/YOU KNOW MY NAME (LOOK UP MY NUMBER) (Apple 2764 "All Rights Reserved" 1975 pressing with company sleeve, 1970):
Clean M- labels & VG/VG+ vinyl.
Only issued for a few months in 1975, right before the Beatles catalog moved back to Capitol. Labels are spotless and sharp, as good as we've seen; unfortunately, the vinyl shows some play. Apple company sleeve has splits.
Paul wrote this one for his mum, whom he lost when he was a teenager. John Lennon's mother also died young; this shared tragedy must have brought McCartney and Lennon closer in the early years.
The flip side is the only novelty recording The Beatles ever issued. The instrumental ingredients were assembled during their '67 heyday, with the vocal parts added three years later, near The End. Let It Be/You Know My Name was conquering the Hot 100 in April 1970 when Our Heroes declared that the Dream was over...
