The Beatles - Hey Jude / Revolution. R 5722.

This is a 1968 UK 1st DECCA RECORDS CONTRACT PRESSING of The Beatles - Hey Jude / Revolution 7" single. Released on the 30th August 1968, this was the first single by the Beatles to appear on the Apple label.

Due to huge demand for this release EMI/Apple sub-contracted the production of this release to a number of other record labels. This version was produced by Decca Records, probably EMI biggest rival during the 1960's in the UK.

There is a distinct difference between the routine EMI pressing of 'Hey Jude' and this rarer contract pressing. The labels have a much larger space around the push out centre when compared to a standard issue. In addition no tax code is located within the labels but instead is located in the run-out groove. The most unusual feature is the fact the labels have a textured matt finish to them unlike the standard glossy EMI versions.

The vinyl labels are the original dark green variety and state 'Sold in the UK....'. Comes housed within an original Apple Records glossy sleeve.

The vinyl is in VERY GOOD- condition.

Both labels are in VERY GOOD+ condition.

The sleeve is in GOOD+ condition.
