This is a superb MINT pressing of the classic beatles album. An extremely rare First UK STEREO Pressing, with great vinyl, TOP AUDIO and great cover. This is an immaculate record and has only been played twice, the audio, vinyl and cover are just incredible. It looks and sounds unplayed.

Help! is the fifth British and ninth American album by The Beatles, and the soundtrack from their film of the same name. Produced by George Martin for EMI's Parlophone Records, it contains fourteen songs in its original UK form, of which seven appeared in the film Help!. These songs took up the first side of the vinyl album and included the singles "Help!" and "Ticket to Ride". The second side contained seven other releases including the most covered song ever written, "Yesterday".

The American release was a true soundtrack album, mixing the first seven songs with orchestral material from the film. Of the other seven songs which were on the British release, two were released on the US version of the next Beatles album, Rubber Soul, two were back-to-back on the next US single and then appeared on Yesterday and Today and three had already been on Beatles VI.

The album features Paul McCartney's "Yesterday", arranged for guitar and string quartet and recorded without the other group members, which even by Beatles standards was incredibly popular. John Lennon's "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away" indicates the influence of Bob Dylan and includes classical flutes. While several compositions on 1964's Beatles for Sale, as well as "I'll Cry Instead" from A Hard Day's Night, had leaned in a country and western direction, McCartney's "I've Just Seen a Face" was almost pure country, taken at such a fast tempo that it might have been bluegrass if not for the absence of banjo and fiddle.

"Ticket to Ride", also released as a single, was felt by Lennon to be "heavy" in its sound compared to the group's previous output and daring in its reference to a boy and girl living together. McCartney called the arrangement "quite radical".

ALBUM PLAYED FOR GRADING:

Yes – brilliant!  sound quality throughout!

Absolutely Top Stunning Audio! Not a single click or pop. This rare record plays up to its visual grading and beyond. It looks and sounds completely unplayed!

Super Clear Strong Sound, this beautiful record plays with vibrant, TOP audio throughout. Strong, undistorted sound, the frequencies are sharp and clear and free of loud pops or clicks. I have to say that even unplayed vinyls can have fairly low audio. Every piece has to be judged on its own merit, and this vinyl has AMAZING CLEAR SOUND!

The channels are clean and unstressed with NO evidence of any groove-wear whatsoever. Obvious on such an immaculate pressing, but still worth stating, as even single play vinyls can be damaged by play on poor equipment. NO sound blemishes were found during playback, and every minute of this great album has been tested.

The music jumps out, with incredible definition and clarity. I'll give a detailed account below:

Beginning with the iconic 'Help', the music comes in with great clear audio, no pops or clicks and unbelievably clean run ins. Moving into the wonderful 'The Night Before', which demonstrates The Beatles early subtle production layering, with notes and effects that are usually lost on most even relatively played vinyls. Here the audio sings out with amazing clarity. No pops, no clicks, no static. 'You Got To Hide Your Love Away', a real test on this album due to its many layered quiet sections sings out with very little static in the run ins and quiet areas. The audio is absolutely perfect and I dont use that term lightly. Only on such a vinyl that is pretty much as perfect as vinyl can be. Great music with great clarity, and virtually impossible to find with this type of sound. Still no pops or clicks during the music, and not a hint of distortion. In fact I may as well confirm now that there is not a hint of distortion anywhere on this great vinyl. It has only been played twice on a high end system. 'I Need You' sounds great as does the classic 'You're Gonna Loose that Girl', it plays with crystal clear sound. Superb clear bright sound, amazing. Leading back into the paired down 'Ticket to Ride' , the vinyl again plays with super clear sound, amazing for such a paired down audio. No pops or clicks and pretty much NO static, and that is incredibly rare for any vinyl of any age, brand new, just pressed or even an unplayed 1st press from the 1960's like this one. Nearly all vinyl plays with some level of surface sound, but occasionally a very rare press has this type of super clear audio. Amazing!

Side 2. comes in with 'Act Naturally', following near silent run ins the sound is just crystal clear, and again in 'Its only Love', the audio is just superb, again with virtually no static and crystal clear vocal layering. 'You Like me Too Much', also sings out, with great clarity and an amazing lack of surface sound. Another track that is often blighted with loud pops, clicks, buzzing crackle and distortion, but not here. 'Tell Me what You See' sounds just superb and leads into 'I've just Seen A Face', another quiet track and again a real vinyl audio test, just sounds so clear.

All the way through every track plays with incredible definition. The complex arrangements in 'Yesterday'  play so well, with great audio precision. This extremely quiet paired down track plays beautifully. there is the absolutely lightest background static, but its only really noticeable because the whole album is so unbelievably clean. And even the quiet 'Yesterday' plays with Crystal clear sound. Certainly no dominant noises or interference anywhere on this great pressing, making this a truly incredible Museum quality press of this already rare STEREO record.

Rounding off with the rockous 'Dizzy Miss Lizzy', it plays superbly, super clear sound maintaining the high audio standard set by every other track on this lp. The music jumps out, with definition and clarity, the vocals which come through with tremendous power. The tonal quality make this a sensational pressing. With the clear and extra loud First cut Stereo engineering giving the audio a vibrant sound which cannot be beaten.

The record plays with staggering power, and an incredible lack of surface sound during the tracks, or even between the tracks.  It really sounds completely unplayed. The music jumps out, with definition and clarity, particularly on the percussion instruments, and vocals which come through with tremendous power. As is the same with the bass guitar and drums, whilst the guitars come through crisp and clear.

Super strong sound with No distractions, the album plays right through with absolutely NO pops, clicks or repeating unwanted noises what so ever!

I feel I should state that this amazing record has been played, albeit only twice, and is nearly 50 years old. But I am convinced it would be near impossible to better.

By ANY standards this is a great Audio pleasure and I would give the Audio at least a NEAR MINT to MINT grading.

THE RECORD – VISUAL GRADING - Stunning - NEAR MINT ARCHIVE CONDITION

Visually immaculate, this is a superb piece of glossy vinyl, and a really thick pressing. Deep clear grooves that can only be found on the original pressings, this vinyl has only been played twice and actually looks unplayed. The record has great shine, with NO scratches and NO hairlines. Inspected under a spot light, there are barely any paper removal marks, a couple of ultra light whispy lines only, that you really have to squint to see. there are a couple of tiny handling marks, that any vinyl would have, even unplayed, but I cannot state enough how gleaming a new like this piece is. This is a stunning example, truly archive quality, and the ultimate final upgrade.

THE LABELS - NEAR MINT CONDITION

Both labels are in Stunning MUSEUM quality condition. No spindle traces only, and NO wear around the spindle hole! In fact side two looks like there are NO spindle traces at all. There is one tiny spindle mark, about 4 mm and barely visible on each side.

This pressing also has that unique printing triple logo indentation on the labels, it looks absolutely beautiful. Clearly shown in the images.

Amazing  examples of this rare classic First press. It would be impossible to find better unless you could find a pressing that has never been out of the cover.

VINYL TESTED FOR ANY SIGNS OF WARPING:

Yes, NONE visible what so ever when tested be sight and on a moving turntable.

THE COVER

Printed by Garrod and Lofthouse the album cover features the group with their arms positioned to spell out a word in flag semaphore. According to cover photographer Robert Freeman, "I had the idea of semaphore spelling out the letters HELP. But when we came to do the shot the arrangement of the arms with those letters didn't look good. So we decided to improvise and ended up with the best graphic positioning of the arms."

It is extremely hard to find an Original 1st press cover of Help in anything like decent condition. This is a lovely example with only very light corner wear and some light creasing to the laminate. And this is the extremely rare cover, which has NO Stereo LOGO on the front panel top right hand corner. This cover also has the unusual PMC 1255   PCS  3071 assignations on the bottom right hand corner of the rear flip back.

'Help' covers have to be one of the most prone to wear, of all the classic Beatles vinyls from the sixties. The laminate is prone to cracking and lifting, with serious ring wear and destruction to the edges. The unlaminated back is usually heavily marked and The Spines are nearly always flattened, worn and un readable. Not this one!

The opening edges are very square and un frayed, with none of the usual splits at the opening, which these nearly always have. The white areas are very white, with no blemishes. The back cover is nice and clean, with no discernible ring wear, which is very unusual for these delicate covers.

The Spine shows minimal wear only, with no cracks, the spine text is totally intact, and is one of the squarer examples I have seen. A great example. All round, this is a really nice cover! Grades at EXCELLENT to EXCELLENT PLUS.

THE INNER

Comes with the original EMI picture inner. This fabulous pressing comes the original fragile red and white plain paper EMI picture inner, in itself a rarity for HELP

Stunning EXCELLENT condition, NO tears around the die cut openings, and NO wear at the tops. Crisp and Clean.

A really lovely example. You would be hard pushed to ever find a better one.

EXCELLENT condition, NO tears around the die cut openings. Crisp and Clean.

RARITY

A FIRST Stereo PRESS  of HELP in any type of condition is scarce. The vinyl is so often played so much, heavily marked, scratched, with noisy, poor and distorted sound. Any 1st examples with in decent condition and the no logo cover, that plays really well is very rare.

FIRST UK Yellow and Black original pressings of HELP are getting rarer by the day. But I would say that this is an ultimate rarity. This pressing also has that unique printing triple logo indentation on the labels. A pressing in TOP all round condition is extremely rare, and a 1st pressings that looks and sounds unplayed, with stunning crystal clear audio makes this a unique opportunity.

MAKING THIS A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY TO OWN AN EXTREMELY RARE PIECE OF MUSICAL HISTORY.

GREAT COVERS WITH NO SEAM SPLITS, NO TEARS, NO WRITING, NO STICKERS.

GREAT VINYLS WITH NO LOUD CLICKS OR POPS, NO JUMPS OR REPEATS - GUARANTEED!

SCRUPULOUS EXAMINATION and TESTING; PLEASE NOTE:

This record has been play tested on highly sensitive equipment to ensure the sound quality and accuracy of description. I aim to give a precise and concise description of the sound quality, pointing out any defects so that you know what you are buying. I will not go into screeds of information about the nature of the songs, as I imagine that you already know them well. I aim to describe all items as accurately as possible, and offer a full refund on return if for any reason you are not completely happy with the item description.

.

VINYL SOUND - PLEASE NOTE:

The highest quality vinyl with clear sound is rare, and is what I always aim for. I only sell records that play with TOP AUDIO performance, super clear sound uninterrupted by hiss or other interference. Even with the cleanest copies you will find occasional static sound or occasional light tics during playback, caused by a build of dust in the grooves. This is clearly different from the distortion, loud pops, repeating tics or clicks that are found on heavily played and worn pieces of vinyl. Any static build up will reduce when played, and I advise a light clean should be given between plays for optimal performance.

VINYL

Large format art work covers with the original sound and mix unique to vinyl and of the highest quality audio. Vinyl record have always been loved and have become a great investment opportunity, with prices soaring over the last ten years, making classic pieces a great financial as well as a cultural investment.
