A superb sounding original 1st UK pressing by The Beatles. This album has obviously been played but definately not overplayed in my opinion, it has been stored in a case with the vinyl removed from the cover for protection for over 40 years or more. This is how I have always stored my records!
This is the original and 1st UK pressing totally complete with the original Emitex Poly lined record sleeve. Please note! This album is listed for its rarety rather than for its condition this is not graded as mint, although I would grade the audio as very near mint as I heard it on my systems (you can't beat these earliest UK pressed mono pressings there is no other format in the world better for the audio in my opinion). There is just light general wear and tear with age only, having said that the audio played through very near mint on my systems a real collectable playable copy! Unbelievable to find like this. 52 years old!
The cover is laminated front only Garrod & Lofthouse printed Earliest Rough textured 1st issue Parlophone labels.
The Vinyl is the heavier and more substantial type of vinyl than later flimsy pressings available. Makes all the difference for the best audio quality in my opinion any surface marks or scratches ar non audio sounding at least I heard no loud constant clicks, pops or distortion during the audio,, No audio sounding marks or scratches that I heard during the audio and the audio plays near mint on my systems (even in between tracks interference is minimal only). Very sought after and collectable like this! Listen to the complete lp recorded for you to hear for yourself in the player below!
Stunning Near Mint Mono Audio!
A HARD DAY'S NIGHT is the third album by the Beatles, released in the UK on 10 July 1964 as the soundtrack to their first film of the same name. The album was released on 26 June in the U.S. by United Artists Records with a slightly different track listing!
This is the first Beatles album to be recorded entirely on four-track tape, allowing for good stereo mixes.
In contrast to their first two albums, all 13 tracks on A Hard Day's Night were written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, showcasing the development of the band's songwriting talents. The album contains some of their most famous songs, including the title track, with its distinct, instantly recognisable opening chord,[4] and the previously released "Can't Buy Me Love"; both were transatlantic number-one singles for the band.
The title of the album was the accidental creation of drummer Ringo Starr. According to Lennon in a 1980 interview with Playboy magazine: "I was going home in the car and Dick Lester [director of the movie] suggested the title, 'Hard Day's Night' from something Ringo had said. I had used it in 'In His Own Write', but it was an off-the-cuff remark by Ringo. You know, one of those malapropisms. A Ringo-ism, where he said it not to be funny ... just said it. So Dick Lester said, 'We are going to use that title.'"
In 2000, Q placed A Hard Day's Night at number five in its list of the 100 Greatest British Albums Ever.In 2012, A Hard Day's Night was voted 307th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time"
Musically, A Hard Day's Night eschews the rock and roll cover songs of the band's previous albums for a predominantly pop sound.
Sputnikmusic's Dave Donnelly observes "short, peppy" pop songs characterised by layered vocals, immediate choruses, and understated instrumentation. According to Pitchfork Media's Tom Ewing, the lack of rock and roll covers allows listeners to "take the group's new sound purely on its own modernist terms", with audacious "chord choices", powerful harmonies, "gleaming" guitar, and "Northern" harmonica. Music journalist Robert Christgau writes that Lennon–McCartney's songs were "more sophisticated musically" than before.
Side one of the LP contains the songs from the movie soundtrack. Side two contains songs written for, but not included in, the film, although a 1980s re-release of the movie includes a prologue before the opening credits with "I'll Cry Instead" on the soundtrack.
A Hard Day's Night is the first Beatles album to feature entirely original compositions, and the only one where all the songs were written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Lennon dominates the song writing being the primary author of ten out of the thirteen tracks on the album, all except "And I Love Her," "Can't Buy Me Love," and "Things We Said Today." This is also one of three Beatles albums, along with Let It Be and Magical Mystery Tour, in which Starr does not sing lead vocal on any songs. Starr sang the lead vocal on "Matchbox" during the sessions; it appeared instead on the Long Tall Sally EP.
All tracks credited to John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

The Vinyl
This is the original thicker , (Very important), heavier chunky slab of vinyl only found like this on the earliest original pressings! (Later press are much more flimsier and less robust)! The vinyls playing surface has light surface marks/scratches only, importantly nothing deep that caused any clicks or pops during the audio that I could hear at all!
The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warps. The vinyl has retained its original sheen from new in my opinion on initial inspection this looks like it has obviously been played but not overplayed in my opinion. On close inspection there are very light surface scuffs/scratches and/or very light sleeve removal, Importantly there are no audio sounding marks or needle marks that would cause any loud clicks ticks or or pops during the audio play that I could hear, I was quite amazed at how good this vinyl sounds! Don't take my word for it listen to the complete album in the player above. (Actual recording from the vinyl) Even in between tracks any surface noise is very quiet indeed. Audio graded at least excellent plus to near mint in my opinion.
The audio quality
I have played this track for track at very loud volume prior to listing on a top system, importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge. The audio is stunning cristal clear and vibrant, very bright and clear throughout without any signs of distortion at all and plays with a lovely deep bassey feel only found like this on earliest Mono pressings! (No) Loud constant clicks or pops, any interference even in between tracks is minimal indeed. Lovely louder cut clear and bright mono audio! I would grade the audio near as mint in my opinion! ( very rich and vibrant through out)
Unbelievably rare to ever find like this.
No distortion No nasty Loud constant clicks, ticks during the audio that I heard at all!
Hear for yourself in the player above. Actual recording from the vinyl.!
Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for minor isolated static or minor background static/ticks/crackle in between tracks only, and not consistant through out the audio. Please remember that this is a genuine 50 year old record that would have originally been played on a 50 year old system.
The Labels
These are the original and earliest yellow/black Parlophone Rough Textured labels feature ''The Parlophone Co...'' rim text (only 1st press ) "Sold In The UK...." text across the labels (Only 1st Press) K.T. Tax code stamped on side 2 (Correct for this pressing) The early original rough textured labels are free from any nasty names written with just light rubbing only! all text is fully readable. Note: Angled to strong light I notice some marks in the labels to mention. It is obvious to me that this vinyl has been played but certainly not overplayed in my opinion. The spindle hole is free of any ware and of course is perfectly round!
The Record Sleeve
This is the original EMITEX poly lined record sleeve no tares just light fading/browning creasing with age becoming fragile at the edges and is beginning to split at the edges. The vinyl is now always stored separately from the sleeve. This is how I have always stored my records.
The Cover
This Is The Original Garrod & Lofthouse Laminated front only flipback rear (only earliest press)Super glossy laminate and very clean and white at the rear,, in better than excellent condition through out! No splits or tares. All text is readable! 1st variation with Medium Mono logo on the front (Very desirable) Nice glossy appearance with light storage wear corner bumping to mention (see photos) rubbing wear bottom edge. This cover is exceptionally white at the rear with very minor aging/creasing at the flipbacks. Note: There is a small round hole been punched at the rear of the cover. The cover is now separated from the vinyl and sleeve for over 40 years! The rear is also lovely and clean and bright Unbeleivably rare like this! Graded at better than excellent in my opinion!
