Description

Beatles Awesome STEREO 3rd State Butcher Cover
Please read entire description/auction terms prior to bidding on this item. Thank You
If you've been looking for a genuine and authentic 3rd State (peeled) Stereo Butcher Cover that you will be proud to display but don't want to spend $2k or more, then this might be for you ! Great holiday gift for that special Beatles Fan. These STEREO jackets are at least five times as rare as their mono counterparts but some say 10 times as rare. At any rate, mono was still the more produced designation in 1966 as far as Beatles records go. Please view the photos and compare with other peels on the web in this price range.
While there are a few minor condition issues (see details below in the condition section) with this jacket, make no mistake about it, the overall quality of the peel is above what you normally see in this price range. So, if you aren't super picky about wanting an absolutely 100% perfect jacket, you can pick this up for a price that hopefully won't completely empty your savings account. These correctly peeled STEREO jackets are much harder to come by in such displayable condition.
Although it is sad each week to see more and more recently poorly peeled covers go up for sale, the good news is that jackets such as this that present well with a framable Trunk Slick are only increasing in value as more and more get destroyed each week by amateur peel attempts.
While there is some commonly see condition issues on this jacket (mostly confined to the spine and back of this jacket), this would still look great in a frame. Please read the jacket description below for specific details on condition.
Look around and compare. Perhaps not for the super picky collector that wants a Butcher Cover that appears as if it just popped out of a time capsule and looks like it just came out of the store in 1966, but more for that special someone who wants a rarer STEREO Butcher Cover that would look sensational in a frame. Please check our positive feedback for customer satisfaction of past sales of genuine Butcher Covers. Also look at realized prices of completed auctions and compare.
While the market is currently getting flooded with overhyped/over-graded peels with large obvious large scars/damage/paper residue etc, the good news for buyers is that this is one of the more affordable/obtainable peels out there that still presents nicely that won't make you completely empty your bank account. This one is better than what is usually seen out there in this price range. But don't just take our word for it, look around and compare what you are buying for what price. Take a close look at the photos and please see below for specific condition description.
This item will be safely and securely double boxed and shipped to you via Priority Mail.
Please read complete description and view photos carefully prior to bidding.
Condition:
Front of Jacket:

Front Peeled Butcher Slick is awesome and presents nicely from a professional peeling process. Slight crease visible on the left of Ringo's lab coat near the end of Paul's hand that corresponds with the crease on the removed trunk cover. Often this process of pasting over the trunk cover was not flawless and bubbles/horizontal lines etc occurred during the Capitol Records manufacturing process in 1966.
Please see photos to verify the specific conditions described and feel free to contact with questions.

Seams:
Top and Bottom seams show several inches some typical light splitting (mostly at center of top seam and last half of bottom seam but this has been remediated with archival linen hinging tape and with proper storage and care, the seam condition should remain in this condition (please see photos of top and bottom seams as well a inside photos showing repairs). The very tip of the edge on the bottom seam white border on the right hand side near the mouth opening appears to have been touched up where the white paper was missing. Please also see photos of vinyl and inner sleeve inserted inside the jacket (for demonstration purposes only !). Please don't do this or store the record inside this jacket (or any collectible album of this age for that matter). To protect the integrity what remains of the seams and avoid future damage, a record should never be attempted to be placed into this jacket. Due to the frailty of seams, we cannot warrantee these seams or seam repairs. Spine:
Spine is mostly complete with a few small paper chips missing (one at top and one at bottom and two smaller chips in the middle of the spine but all spine writing is still legible. (See Spine photos).
Back Of Jacket:
The back of the jacket displays some light tanning/staining. (See photo of back)
Trunk Slick:
Removed trunk slick is included in framable condition with some wrinkling wear and tear from the peeling process  Please note the slight line accross Ringo's blue jacket that corresponds with the light crease on front. This had to do with the pasteover process at the designated factory that completed the process of covering the Butcher Cover with the trunk cover. Often, this process was not perfect and it created lines and or bubble creases on the front cover but these were sold in retail stores that way.
Record/Inner Sleeve
Comes complete with STEREO East Coast mono pressing in G visual condition by conservative Goldmine standards (visible scuffs and scratches. Has been played on an Audio Technica AT- LP120XBT turntable and plays remarkably much better than it looks without skipping or major disruption. Correct East Coast Goldenrod CAPITOL INNER SLEEVE with this record that displays a typical bottom split of several inches and . Record will come in an archival quality anti static sleeve. Terms Of Auction/Shipping:
Due to recent inflation and subsequent increases in actual USPS shipping costs, Buyer pays $39.99 for properly packed double boxed priority shipping with tracking. Shipping of such a high value, large package with significant weigh is costly and labor intensive and will likely be more that what is being charged here. Regardless, the cost to you will be capped at $39.99. Bidders with low feedback or new accounts must contact us prior to bidding on this item. Seller reserves the right to cancel bids at any time. Due to the exceptional cost and labor involved in shipping this item, this is being sold "AS IS" and there are No Returns on this purchase. Please review all photos and descriptions and please contact with questions prior to bidding. This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
Thank You !
