Description

Beatles 3rd State Awesome Peeled LA #6 Butcher Cover
Please read entire description/auction terms prior to bidding on this item. Thank You
What a great Holiday gift for that special Beatles fan !

Please see attached video of the actual peeling process of this particular jacket.
If you've been looking for a genuine and authentic 3rd State (peeled) 1966 LA #6 Mono Butcher Cover that you will be proud to display and treasure, this may be it. Low opening bid for a peel of this quality. Even at the Buy It Now price, this peel still is a good bang for the buck. Certain high quality peels have been selling for over 3k recently. This can be yours at a 3rd of that price at opening bid !
This Butcher Cover is an excellent value that presents nicely and would look great matted and framed. This is head and shoulders above most offerings you see in this price range. Also, check our prior feedback for customer satisfaction of other genuine 1966 Butcher Covers.
These nicely peeled #6 jackets are much harder to come by in such displayable condition.
Although it is sad each week to see more and more recently poorly peeled covers go up for sale, the good news is that jackets such as this, that present well, are only increasing in value as more and more get destroyed each week by amateur peel attempts. TheButcherCover, in contrast to these notable amateur efforts, have consistently and correctly peeled hundreds of the most difficult examples from every Capitol manufacturing plant (#2,#3,#5,#6) for customers around the globe for over 4 decades. These examples have been exhibited in books, youtube and many other notable outlets for decades. Many of these folks buy our jackets that were peeled by TheButcherCover and flip them at a higher price. You have a choice, bid wisely and look around before buying.
Please read the jacket description below for specific details on condition.
Most LA designated 2nd state trunk covers were adhered for Capitol Records by the Modern Album Company during the paste over process with a difficult to remove adhesive. These cannot be "steamed" off. For every nice one that exists, there are probably a thousand bad to mediocre peels. Most of the severely damaged 3rd state covers you see on the internet for sale are improperly peeled LA Jackets. Look around and compare. Please check our positive feedback for customer satisfaction of past sales of genuine Butcher Covers. Also look at realized prices of completed auctions and compare.
While the market is currently getting flooded with over-hyped/over-graded peels with large obvious large scars/damage/paper residue, notably warped jackets from improper peeling technique. etc, the good news is that this particular Butcher Slick looks awesome, which is unusual especially in regard to these particular Los Angeles examples. Due to the difficulty of the peel, these LA Butcher Covers are much harder to come by in displayable condition. But don't just take our word for it, look around and compare what you are buying for what price. Take a close look at the photos and please see below for specific condition description.
This item will be safely and securely double boxed and shipped to you via Priority Mail. Please read complete description prior to bidding.
Condition:
Front of Jacket:

Front Peeled Butcher Slick is awesome and presents nicely from a professional peeling process. Beautiful colors and presentation on this one and many feel that the LA Jackets in general have a richer look color wise. This is one of those examples where you can actually part of the bench that John Lennon is sitting on.
No obvious large rips or tears or other obvious that you usually see on these #6 peels. Factory glue residue, paper residue, etc is very minimal. Any touch up on this would be very minimal as this looks gorgeous, especially for a harder to peel #6 LA example.
Please see photos to verify the specific conditions (photos may vary slightly in colors, shading, etc due to different lighting sources used during photography) described and feel free to contact with questions. The item shown is exact item that you will receive and is a nice example of a west coast peel.

Seams:
Top seam appears complete with some aging and a slight small break less than a half ince at the end of that seam near the very edge.Bottom seam is also mostly complete with a proper reinforcement to the last two inches with archival hinging material. To protect the integrity of what remains of these seams and avoid future damage, a record should never be attempted to be forced or stored inside this jacket (See close up photos of seams).
Spine:
Spine has most writing legible but exhibits some wear, foxing and cracking evident for several inches in the middle section of the spine. Like the seams mentioned above, this seems to have been properly secured to prevent spreading. (See Spine photos).
Back Of Jacket:
The back of the jacket display light to average wear/tanning, light stains and a more noticeable stain of a few inches to the right of the word "Today" on the back of the jacket which is clearly visible in the photos. (see photos of back of jacket).
Trunk Slick:
Sorry but no trunk slick included on this one.
Record
Comes with West Coast mono pressing pretty trashed in Poor to Fair visual condition. This record was obviously played many many times by the original owner and probably on a cheaper phonograph. Correct Goldenrod WEST COAST CAPITOL INNER SLEEVE included in this auction but that also is not in the greatest condition with a split side and noticeable edge wear/tape repair.
Terms Of Auction/Shipping:
Due to recent inflation and subsequent increases in actual USPS shipping costs, Buyer pays $34.99 for properly packed double boxed priority shipping with tracking. Shipping of such a high value, large package with significant weigh is costly and labor intensive and will likely be more that what is being charged here. Regardless, the cost to you will be capped at $34.99. Bidders with low feedback or new accounts must contact us prior to bidding on this item. Seller reserves the right to cancel bids at any time. Due to the exceptional cost and labor involved in shipping this item, this is being sold "AS IS" and there are No Returns on this purchase. Please review all photos and descriptions and please contact with questions prior to bidding. This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
Please not that T- Shirt seen in background is NOT INCLUDED in this auction and is for display purposes only.
Thank You !
