Condition:
Front of Jacket:
There is a myth out there that all Scranton PA Butcher Covers are easy peels. Not so. This appears to be one of those where the trunk slick was adhered way down the factory line of thousands of jackets where the glue got gunky and the application brushes got hard. Factory glue residue, discoloration/horizontal brush lines from the application of the trunk slick back in 1966 are noticeable but don't completely interfere with this being a decent peel. Regardless, this still presents better than 95% of the peels you see offered on the internet. This is priced accordingly and the rest of the jacket is fairly clean with decent back, seams and spine.
Please see photos to verify the specific conditions described and feel free to contact with questions.
Seams:
Top and bottom seams are complete which is fairly rare on a 3rd state (peeled) cover. (See close up photos of seams). To protect the integrity of the seams and avoid future damage, a record should never be placed or stored in this jacket. This album jacket is nearly 60 years old and should be protected accordingly.
Spine:
Like the seams, the spine is complete and all printing is present. This spine seems secure but there is some beginning typical check cracks present. (See close up spine photos).
Back Of Jacket:
The back of the jacket is fairly clean with light wear/tanning but no writing, tears etc. There is a light small stain near the bottom of the jacket. (See photo of back)
Trunk Slick:
Trunk slick is included and is in framable condition with some minor wear tear and repair (see photos of removed trunk slick and 2nd state prior to peeling).
Record/Inner Sleeve:
Comes complete with Mono East Coast mono pressing in VG- visual condition light scuffs and scratches). Plays through more like conservative VG without skips or major issues. Correct East Coast Goldenrod CAPITOL INNER SLEEVE included but displays top edge wear but no major seam splits. Record will come stored in a black mo fi style inner sleeve and white cardboard jacket.
Terms Of Auction/Shipping:
Due to recent inflation and subsequent increases in actual USPS shipping costs, Buyer pays $34.99 for properly packed double boxed priority shipping with tracking. Shipping of such a high value, large double boxed package with significant weigh is costly and labor intensive and will likely be more that what is being charged here. Bidders with low feedback or new accounts must contact us prior to bidding on this item. Seller reserves the right to cancel bids at any time. Due to the exceptional cost and labor involved in shipping this item, this is being sold "AS IS" and there are No Returns on this purchase. Please review all photos and descriptions and please contact with questions prior to bidding. This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
Thank You !
