Up for auction is an authentic 1966 #3 Capitol Records Scranton, PA maufactured 3rd State (Peeled) Butcher Cover . You won't find anything better selling for less than $600. Yes, this is 1000% the real deal so please don't email asking if this is a reproduction. If you look closely, you can clearly see the Scranton PA tell tale glue lines. Regardless, Ebay buyer protection guarantees your satisfaction and so do I . If you don't like it, return it in the condition that you received it for a full refund.
This is a relist due to the reserve being missed by less than $200. There are a few condition considerations on this one so please read the auction text carefully before bidding. This is a great price on a genuine 1966 peeled Butcher Cover that is in displayable condition at a small fraction of what some Butcher Covers have been selling for. If you are looking for exaggerated condition, exclamation points, you won't find it here. I have sold many Butcher Covers at great prices and my buyers have nothing but nice things to say except for one buyer who never complained about condition , ignored a full refund and then posted negative after requesting items that weren't included in the auction . So please , I request that if you have questions or aren't sure , please dont bid . I don't play games and only request the same in return. Take and chance on this Butcher Cover and give it a good home. Auction is for the Butcher Cover, removed trunk slick , mono Scranton record and t-shirt size Adult XL . We've included the record this time around but it is visually in poor to fair condition. Sorry, no inner sleeve included in this auction and this auction is stricly for the actual items seen and described.
As I said in the introduction, there are a few condition issues on this Butcher and it isn't in near mint condition and probably isn't the cover for the finicky collector. Still, many people only dream of owning a genuine treasure such as this and are willing to tolerate a few condition issues in order to save thousands.
The most important part, which is the Butcher Slick, is in very displayble condition with beautiful rarer reddish tones throughout . This slick exhibits some Capitol factory glue lines, residue/aging/and some minute touch up . As you can see from the photos , there is nothing tragic about it. The back of the jacket is pretty clean without any writing but also exhibits some age browning spots and mild light stains. The removed trunk slick is included but not perfect with wear and tear and missing a piece at the top. It appears that this was a tenacious peel but the good news is that there are only minute touched up spots here and there and as the photos show, nothing to lose sleep over.
Bottom seam is solid with only wear/split near the last inch or so of the seam. Top seam had what appears to be a seperation crack from the left end to about the middle. This has been neatly closed up. The spine is missing some paper throughout and some print but has also been neatly adhered. White borders around the butcher slick show some glue residue, some browning/abrasions where the butcher slick was originally adhered to the top.
This is a guaranteed original 1966 Capitol 3rd state Butcher cover and NOT a reproduction,bootleg or counterfeit or you money back . Your Butcher Cover will be professionally packed in a Japanese style protective sleeve.
