BEATLES Abbey Road

ULTRA-RARE NEVER SEEN COPY. This is the first time I see an ORIGINAL U.S.A. pressing of this item with INCREDIBLE NO-CIGARETTE COVER. I bought this record one month ago together with some RARE PROMOTIONAL ALBUMS from an old guy who works for years in a record-warehouse. This person had some very rare and strange stuff in his collection, like an original Beggars Banquet Decca Blue Mono, never seen in my life, and other items very rare like Santa Dog by Residentes, a red vinyl copy of ultra-rare italian psych LP Le Stelle di Mario Schifano, etc. This guy has sold me only some LPs and between them there is this incredible version of Abbey Road album. He told me that purchased this record in the 70s, from an american collector, and He paid money + rare LPs for it. This american collector told him that the copy in question is a very rare TEST PRESSING WITH A MISTAKE ON COVER, infact Paul McCartney appears WITHOUT CIGARETTE in his hand. Now I wish to specify that this friend of mine told me that when recived the album He had some doubts about its authenticity, but He knew that american collector since 1962, so He trusted him. However, I searched notice about it in all my Beatles books and in all my Rare LPs books, but......NOTHING. The only thing I can say You is the same my friend told me: THIS IS THE STRANGE BEATLES COVER EVER MADE.

Actually, plain white cover is surely an original 60s cover, and the famous Beatles photo is attached on front. IT SEEMS A REALLY TEST PRESSING (like american collector told to my friend), besides TEST PRESSING is stamped on front at the top and on back, as You can see by the photo. Also the record is surely an ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING. I buy Lps since 1976 and.....weight, thickness, and matrix SO-1/2-383-F1/2, etc. tell IT'S AUTHENTIC. Remains to clarify why this copy doesn't show cigarette in Paul McCartney hand........the only thing I can tell You is: THIS IS PROBABLY AN ERROR OF PRESSING. and after....someone (maybe a Capitol employee?) made this copy. Shouldn't be the first time, for example exists a pink copy of an Elvis early LP probably pressed by an employee after working time, and obviously its value is very high.

As regards conditions, cover is in EXCELLENT cond. with only very light starting ring wear on top front and on back. Spine shows 1 and half cm faded on bottom. Vinyl is in VERY GOOD MINUS cond. with some airlines here and there and some spots but plays well with only some minimal noise here and there. Labels on vinyl faces are black. They are very strange,....seems someone colored them with black drawing pen, probably labels were white originally.

To conclude, this is surely THE RAREST BEATLES WEIRDNESS EVER SEEN, PROBABLY DUE TO AN ERROR PRESSING, but this is only a possible eventuality. However,.....Altough I CAN NOT ASSURE YOU ABOUT ITS AUTHENTICITY, this is surely a rare opportunity for all Beatles fans to get a copy of this NO-CIGARETTE COVER. ONE CHANCE IN YOUR LIFE.

GOOD LUCK.

P.S.: I received a lot of questions about authenticity of the photo. The only thing I can say You is that the photo seems to be original. I've checked Sir Paul's hand under the light, and I have to be honest, I haven't seen a possible "shadow" of cigarette removed. However, as I'm an honest person (as You can see by my 100% positive feedback) and I don't want any problems, I tell You what I think, for me this is only a weirdness, probably an error. I really don't know whatelse say to You.
