UNUSUAL PRESSING WITH A-3U EXPORT MATRIX NUMBERS & MISALIGNED APPLE SLEEVE

ABBEY ROAD

115g 12" black vinyl with export YEX 749 A-3U and YEX 750-1 matrix number endings and 1 l stampers; slightly rough and ridged Apple paper labels that state "Mtd. in U.K." and list 'Her Majesty' on Side Two; a clear plastic inner bag with thumb grip; and a fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse outer sleeve with a misaligned Apple logo on the back cover.

VINYL & SLEEVE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION

PLEASE NOTE that this record was purchased at the same time as a copy of 'Sgt. Pepper' that I sold on eBay last year - the successful bidder later suggested that it might have been a Jamaican pressing and this copy of 'Abbey Road' has similarities. The catalogue number on both the labels and sleeve is the standard UK PCS 7088, but the matrix numbers are those of the export pressings. The stampers are 1 on Side One and l on Side Two with no letters on the opposite side of the dead wax. The labels have the same slightly rough texture and ridged finish that you find with Jamaican records, but the vinyl looks and sounds like British quality, albeit weighing around 20g lighter than usual. There is no Apple inner bag, and the laminated outer sleeve looks and feels like the good quality 1969 UK first issue.

CONDITION:

VINYL EXCELLENT The vinyl is clean and bright with a few light signs of play. The sound reproduction also play grades as EXCELLENT throughout. Both paper labels are clean with light spindle lines.

INNER SLEEVE VERY GOOD The clear plastic inner bag has inevitable creasing but no splits.

PLEASE NOTE that along with the original inner sleeve, the record will be dispatched in a new polylined inner bag.

SLEEVE EXCELLENT The fully laminated sleeve has three half moon creases on the front cover, with a smaller one on the back. Other than these the sleeve is clean and unmarked.

I always strongly recommend that you select the insured option for postage irrespective of the value of the contents.
