1969 The Beatles - Abbey Road. Black One Box EMI Parlophone. PCSJ 7088 Stereo.
The Beatles 1969 'Abbey Road' UK export album. An extremely rare album originally pressed in the UK for export only to South Africa. This is the very 1st pressing version with the long deleted ONE EMI BOX PARLOPHONE LABEL design. Both the cover and vinyl DO NOT feature the track 'Her Majesty' as with the standard UK 1st pressings. The front laminated flip back sleeve has NO Apple logo on the reverse but instead has the far rarer PARLOPHONE logo. The area where the Apple logo would be is completely blank!
The rarity of this label design cannot be over emphasised as this album was issued virtually worldwide on the standard Apple label. It is almost impossible to find any EMI Parlophone issues at all as the numbers pressed were so low. Normally issued on the Apple label, these copies only existed to be exported to countries when the Apple logo was not yet (or could not be) registered as a company.
The matrix numbers are the earliest possible for this album: Side 1: YEX 749 Side 2: YEX 750.
THIS ALBUM HAS NO MOTHER STAMPERS, VERY RARELY SEEN!!!!
The vinyl labels state ''An EMI Recording' and "PRESSED FOR OR BY A REGISTERED USER". A true Beatles collectable and rarity.
Vinyl Condition: The thick heavyweight vinyl is in VERY GOOD++ condition. The vinyl plays perfect.
Cover Condition: The front laminated flip back sleeve with the EMI PARLOPHONE logo on the front and back is in VERY GOOD+ condition. With only some minor laminate lifting.
Label Condition: Both labels are in EXCELLENT condition. Very little spindle wear.
