This auction is for a very rare and seldom seen 65/66 STEREO pressing of the Beatles LP 'A Hard Days Night' on the yellow / black Parlophone. This copy has the very rare Times New Roman style typefont that was only used by Parlophone in 65/66.
Back in the mid 60s, the stereo format was still very much the underdog. Stereo discs cost more than their mono counterparts and stereophonic record players were still priced up to the point of being a highly expensive luxury. Because of this, the original stereo presses sold in far, far fewer numbers than the mono presses. Couple this with the fact that, by this time the fans had already bought their copies of Hard Days Night and had moved onto Help, Rubber Soul and Revolver by this time. Because of this, only a tiny number of copies of Hard Days Night were manufactured with the TNR labels, even few in stereo!
This press is incredibly rare and copies hardly ever turn up for sale!

The cover is looking very clean with just some light wear and tear on it. The front cover is very clean with just a little rubbing on the laminate, a very light disc impression and some creasing, or which you can see in the photo above. The white border along the top has creamed a little. Top seam is holding fine. There's a small patch of wear on the bottom seam but hasn't split. Spine is holding with just a few little creases running through it, and has no splits or tears and all text is fully legible. Back cover is clean but has browned slightly and there's a hint of disc impression near the mouth edge. The name 'Halean Axel...' (can't qauite read the rest) has been written in red pen at the bottom right corner. Overflaps are stuck tight and do have some light creases in them but look fine. Overall, very decent sleeve! Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : Side 1: VG / Side 2: EX+
The playing surface has a really nice, sharp shine to it, but I've had to downgrade the side 1 playing surface as it looks like it has this residue on it. It's a little hard to explain but it won't wash or rub off, leaving me to think that it *might* be a manufacturing error, but that's only an opinion. I've no idea if it affects the play as I don't have a player. On side 1 there's also a few faint marks, but nothing at all serious. Side 2 looks much, much nicer and has a wonderfully crisp, sharp shine to it and just a little light, barely visible scuffing in places.

The labels are looking awesome! Clean, crisp and clear with bright, silver text. There's just a little, light spindlewear and just a touch of whitening around the centrehole. Awesome labels!
