"I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND" b/w "I Saw Her Standing There"  Capitol 5112

Up for auction is an original alternate West Coast, tab-cut pressing of this title from Capitol's Los Angeles facility.  I have owned this copy for almost 8 years and have been searching diligently for another.  It's been called the "discovery copy".  I have been asking collectors I know and posting on collecting-related websites to see if anyone out there has one.  I have spent countless hours scouring eBay and vinyl sites - nothing.  Even Tom at Fab4Collectibles said this is the first one he's seen.

As far as I know, this fluke is the ONLY COPY KNOWN TO EXIST with the tab-cut on the "I Saw Her Standing There" side.

EVERY copy of this West Coast sleeve I have ever seen has the tab-cut on the "I Want to Hold Your Hand" side.  Check your copies and let me know if you have one!

This sleeve is in VG+ condition with an address sticker (blurred) and some wrinkling from handling.  There are no splits.  There is no writing.  This sleeve was released in December 1963, two months before the Beatles ever stepped foot in America.  This is a first issue sleeve WITHOUT the periods between the tiny patent registration copy beneath the Capitol Records logo.  All subsequent pressings corrected that oversight and added the periods.  This sleeve comes with a letter of authenticity from Beatles expert Perry Cox, who I'd like to thank for taking the time to look at this piece.

I am selling off my collection and for some crazy twist of fate, this sleeve happens to be part of it.

We will ship via USPS First Class mail unless otherwise requested from buyer.
