Up for sale is an all original stereo beatles album, lp cover, and sleeve in vintage shrink wrap.  Yesterday and Today on capitol records and yes this is the infamous "butcher" cover that has been pasted over with trunk cover.  Included is a stereo 1966 yesterday and today vinyl and an original 1966 orange capitol Records inner sleeve.  Instead of rambling on about this and that please read my question and answer segment below as this is the third butcher cover I've sold and I now realize the bombardment of questions most commonly asked...

I see a price tag and black writing on it.  Is that touching the cover?
No!  The price tag and black writing is on the shrink wrap and is not NOT touching the original cover.  By the way the black writing is somewhat easy to remove from wrap as it is chalky but I do not wish to tear the shrink.  Leave that to the winning bidder.

What is the condition of the cover?
The condition of the cover is bordering NM as it has been in its vintage shrink wrap which has protected it from dust and whatnot.  The shrink wrap has been opened and record removed previously and the shrink has curled back a little at opening. The only ding is that in the upper right hand corner there is a slit about an inch long on the top edge where the paper cover has peeled back.  But the cover is not split!  It looks like a cut that may have happened when someone say opened the shipping box or such. I dunno.  I repeat the slit is on the top edge, not on the slick itself.

NEW; I see you have switched out and put in many photos.  Some pictures had dark corners on bottom left and right.  Is it dirty?
Any dark corners you saw were caused by shadows from the shrink that is bunched up in the corners.  The bottom right and left corners are clean!  To avoid flash glare I have taken photos at a steep angle, thus creating these "dark" corners.  I will probably switch photos again for more accuracy in detail.  I do not guarantee anymore that this shrink is the original shrink wrap.  I suspect it was added by some record store later but I don't know when.  As a result it is possible the cover has had exposed time to the air between its original seal and its possible reseal wrap, therefore minute particles may be there  since it left the factory.  I dunno.  See pics for final details on its whiteness.

Is Ringo's turtleneck visible?
Yes, see pics, quite visible on this clean cover.

Is there ring wear?
Ring wear Is MINIMAL on the back cover in my opinion.  And frankly, my naked untrained eye could find virtually NO ring wear on the all important front cover!  Any ring wear on front  is so subtle as to be negligible in my opinion but please refer to the pics for final details.

Where is the original vinyl?
I dunno and frankly good! because I believe that is the reason there is virtually no ring wear if at all visible on front cover.  Even sealed expensive copies of this album run the increasing risk of ring wear over time.  I did buy on ebay a 1966 stereo beatles vinyl yesterday and today and i have included it as a courtesy.  The cover itself was found by me by itself.

Is that the original inner sleeve?
It is an original Capitol inner sleeve from 1966 (orange) but as a courtesy I pulled it from a similar record of the period FROM THE SAME FACTORY!  Factory #5.  Excellent condition small split on bottom where record weighs down on it, otherwise very sharp.

Any other openings in shrink wrap?
I do not see any other openings in shrink wrap except at the record opening.  I am tempted to remove shrink wrap to showcase its cleanliness, but I will leave that to the winning buyer.

What is #5?
That is where this cover and sleeve came from, capitol records factory #5 on the west coast.  Collectors can be fanatical about where it came from so I wanted to make sure the sleeve came from same place.  The stereo record actually came from a #3 factory from 1966.

Wouldn't this be worth more if you got a matching beatles vinyl from 1966 stereo from #5 factory?
Maybe, but not really.  99% of its value is the cover.  I have ordered on ebay and received a stereo beatles yesterday and today from 1966 in great condition.  I play graded it on my quality stereo and stylus and it sounds AMAZING!  I would playgrade it a VG++++/NM-.  Visually it is a VG+ in my opinion.  The vinyl matrix is st-1-2553 x5.  Nice glossy sheen.  Surface marks but once again plays high grade! Entire album!

Which is rarer, 1st or 2nd state covers?
1st State covers are more coveted and rare but high quality 2nd State covers like this listing are getting just as rare because fans have spent the last 47 years trying to peel off the trunk to get to the butcher album!  Only in the last decade have collectors begun to realize that this is has created a new problem!  Add to that that this listing is  a STEREO which was made much less than mono... you get the idea how rare this sample is!

Can I buy this now? I don't want to wait.
You can buy it now yes!    My BIN is based on research of what sold similarly in the last two months and I believe is fair in the sense that it is an established and recent purchase price, even below some recent sales averages.   But who knows, this is the third and nicest butcher I've tried to sell and I'm always surprised at the final selling price.

How rare is this?
Very rare, even more so because of it protected shrink wrap condition and that it is STEREO which was made in much smaller amounts than mono.

Back to condition.  It seems dark on front cover near opening.  Is it dirty or bent or what?
Any darkness you may see is caused by shadows of the curled shrink wrap at opening.  Once again the stunning cleanliness of this record cover is not properly conveyed by my household kodak.  Please note that in my pictures I took photos of the cover with flash, without flash and in outside bright natural light (quickly!).  See pics for final details!  Once again the only blemish besides minimal ring wear stated earlier is the blade cut in upper right hand corner. And it is not split!  I do see that the paste over where the shrink wrap is exposed away in the same upper right corner  does not fully adhere but this is like a TINY centimeter and you need to break out the magnifying glass to observe this !.  Do the research, this is the nicest non-sealed stereo 2nd state butcher album cover you've seen in a long time.

Maybe, depending on the reliability of the country's mail service and roads, excellent ebay rating with at least a fair amount of transactions and you must CONTACT ME First!
And I will only do GLOBAL EXPRESS SHIPPING which will be at least $80 -$100.

Item sold as is.  See pics for FINAL details.  I will ship it like it was liquid plutonium so if you excitedly rip it out of the box and your trembling hands drop and ding it that is your tough luck, not mine to deal with the accusation of it got dinged in the mail, sorry.  I also reserve the right to cancel any bids from anyone with less than 10 transactions on ebay in last 12 months.  Contact me first if you have questions about that.

How will you ship it?
Professional NEW record mailer box very carefully. Reinforce the corners of outside record mailer with additional protective wings.   Priority mail with delivery and possible signature confirmation.  I have 100% ebay rating and am often cited for my OCD like shipping talent.

Any other flaws?
I honestly am going cross-eyed trying to find any more issues than already mentioned.  I don't see any with my untrained eye.  See pics for final details and email questions.  I will post any and all questions that help clarify the state of this rare cover.

IF I do an auction, I promise to start at a penny with no reserve and let it run its full course, no matter the result.  Promise.  As for the BIN listing presently...  anything goes, including ending it abruptly without reason.  I have a lot of watchers and quite a few offers, some tempting.  I've had a few offers outside of paypal and in my hometown but I don't want to go that route.  A buddy of mine who knows I collect vintage mego toys offered me some rare mego pieces(!) but I promised my spouse this will go to household bills! 
I really thought this would sell quickly at my present BIN.    Never compare your listing to one that has had a bidding war! Ha!  Maybe I added too much info.  Collectors love the thrill of the hunt (auction) and roll of the dice on an amateur seller ignorant of what they have.  I dunno.
