Description
After 20 years of collecting, the time has come for me to sell my Beatles collection and let other collectors appreciate some of the records and memorabilia I've accumilated over the years. Please check out my other listings and remember to save me as a favourite seller, as every week I'll be listing more and more increasingly rare, collectible and desirable Beatles records!
Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This auction is for a rare copy of the Beatles single 'Eleanor Rigby / Yellow Submarine'. This particular copy is a 2nd pressing and features the Gramophone rimtext but, most importantly, NO 'Sold in the UK' centretext that's found on the vast majority of original copies of this single!
In 1969 the tax laws that required albums to feature the "Sold in the UK" text were changed so it could be removed from the labels. Just a couple of short months after this text was removed from the label Parlophone added an EMI logo to the design. As such, these 1969 presses were only ever available for a couple of months, and at a time where the fans were currently listening to Abbey Road and Let It Be. Hardly anybody would have bought this as both songs were available on Revolver anyway!
A true rarity! Comes in a repro Parlophone company sleeve.

The playing surface has a good shine to it but does have a fair amount of light scuffing. There are two light surface scratches on the Yellow Submarine side near the top that runs across the playing surface that's unfeelable under the finger but which could produce a quiet click if played - I haven't playtested this so so I cannot say for sure.

The labels are looking a little tired, but have no wear, tear, stickers, writing or anything. Both sides have only a very little, light, spidery spindlewear and almost no whitening around the centreholes. Nice labels!

All records have been visually graded under a strong, 125W natural light desk lamp.
