This auction is for a very rare early 1st pressing of the Beatles final LP Abbey Road on the dark Apple label. This is the very rare, early pressing that not only is missing the 'Her Majesty' credit on both the sleeve and the disc, but also has the misaligned Apple logo on the back cover.

When this LP was initially released the final track on side 2, 'Her Majesty', was not intended to be left on the album, and somehow how its way onto the final mix. It was due to be a small song between Mean Mr. Mustard (the ending of which is what you hear at the very start of the song) and Polythene Pam (the first chord of Polythene Pam is the ending chord missing from Her Majesty). Since it was uncredited it could be considered one of Rocks first ever 'hidden tracks', but as it was left totally uncredited anybody could have jumped in and claimed it as their own. Therefore, the track was very swiftly added to the side 2 label. These early copies are, on their own, hard to find.

But, doubled with this is the highly collectible 'Misaligned' Apple cover. When this LP was initially released the back cover had the Apple logo right up hard against the mouth edge. This was very soon reset to align up with the track listing and 'Apple Records' title. The Apple logo was part of the artwork, and so when it was aligned it cut off about 1/2" of the girl to the right of the cover, and also brought the spots at the top left fully into view.

Would make an excellent collection filler!

The cover is showing some light wear and tear, but overall it's looks really, really good! The front has an awesome colour and only a little, light dirt buildup on the laminate. There's some light disc impression and a few little laminate creases around the edges and corners. Top and bottom seams have a couple of little laminate creases running through but but they're unworn and have not split. Spine, again, has some little laminate creases running through it, but hasn't split and is unworn and fully legible. Back cover, like the front, has a little dirt buildup, light disc impression and some little laminate creases around the edges. But overall the cover is looking really nice with just minimal wear and tear!   Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : FAIR+

The playing surface is looking a little tired and has a lot of light scuffing on the surface along with some slightly heavier looking scuffs / light scratches. I can't really see anything heavier or anything that'd make a prominent click or skip, but I wouldn't say this was a play copy.

The labels are looking everso slightly tired but still have a rich colour to them. There's some moderate, light spindlewear and some whitening around the centrehole, but nothing major. Check out the pics! Nice labels..
