Description

Well, this is it folks. This is my last week of selling the big stuff on eBay! It's been a great 6 months and I hope there have been gaps in your collection that have now been filled. This week is my final push of some of the best records and memorabilia I have! Thank you all so much for following me!

Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This auction is for a very rare, original MONO 1st pressing of the Beatles 1969 LP 'Yellow Submarine' on the dark Apple label. This is the early 1st press with features the red lines on the back cover and no credit for Garrod and Lofthouse on the overflap.

Yellow Submarine was the last Beatles LP to be issued on record in both mono and stereo in the UK as, by 1969, mono was pretty much a completely dead, obsolete format. The price of stereo discs matched their mono counterparts and stereo record players were now much easily affordable by this time, and so pretty much nobody bought mono.

Today is it becoming increasingly difficult to find Yellow Submarine in mono. Only a very small number were ever pressed before it was made unavailable and even less were sold! Comes complete with its original black inner sleeve!

The cover is showing some light, general wear but overall is looking very nice indeed! The front has a nice, rich colour and a predominantly clean laminate with just a little, light disc impression and a touch of light brown spots in the pale areas. There's some little laminate creases around the edges and one in the top left corner. Top and bottom seams are both holding tight with no wear or any splits of any kind. The spine is pinched at the top and bottom and has a few little laminate creases running through it, but it hasn't split or worn and is fully legible. The back has yellowed a little with some light browning around the edges and some light disc impression. The overflaps are stuck tight but do have a few little laminate creases in them. Looking very respectible overall!   Inner Sleeve: VG-

The original black sugar paper inner sleeve is included. It's holding nicely with a little wear and some light creases and disc impression in the corners. There's a little wear at the opening and one of the side seams has split in the middle about 4 or so inches. Overall, though, holding up nicely!   Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : EX

The playing surface has a lovely, crisp shine to it and just a little very light, faint, barely visible little scuffs along with one or two slightly heavier looking marks. However, overall the disc is looking really, really nice!! Really clean and respectible!

The labels are looking really nice with no wear, stickers or anything and just one or two very light, faint little solitary spindlemarks and just a bare hint of whitening around the centrehole. The small pen scribbles on both labels sadly bring the grading down a little. Otherwise, awesome labels!
