Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

Original 1969 Mono Pressing without 'Sold in UK' Statement!
This auction is for a very rare 1969 MONO pressing of the Beatles LP 'Rubber Soul'. This features the yellow / black Parlophone label style and OMITS the Sold in UK statement!
By 1969 mono was a completely dead format and so EMI decided to withdraw the format to make the Beatles back catalogue stereo exclusive. Just before they did this the UK tax laws that required all records to have the 'Sold in UK' statement were changed, so this text was removed. Because of this, there was only a very tiny amount of time where mono copies were sold without the 'Sold in UK' statement.
Bear in mind that this was a time when everyone was buying Abbey Road and the only way to get a copy of an older album was to have it specifically ordered in. And, if someone was replacing a worn out copy, they would have undoubtedly upgraded to the now affordable stereo format.
Today it is exceptionally rare to find a 1969 mono pressing that omit the 'Sold in UK' statement!

Title Rubber Soul Year of Release 1969 Catalogue Number PMC 1267 Label Yellow / Black Parlophone with 'Gramophone' rimtext and no 'Sold in UK' statement Tax Code on Disc - Sleeve Manufacturer Garrod and Lofthouse Side 1 Matrix Number XEX 579-5 Side 2 Matrix Number XEX 580-5 Side 1 Stampers 1 / RL Side 2 Stampers 2 / AG Cover Condition The cover is in VG+ condition. It's holding up very nicely with just some light wear and tear to show its age. The front cover is clean with some light scuffing on the laminate and some little creases running around the edges. Top seam has a little wear in the middle but has not split or torn. Bottom seam is holding perfectly. Spine has a few little creases running through it but has not split or worn and is fully legible. Back cover is clean bar a few small brown spots around the top. There's some light browning and wear down the mouth edge. The overflaps are holding tight with no damage and just a few little creases running through them. Nice cover! Inner Sleeve Condition The cover is in G condition. It's looking okay but has some small creases and wear along with ome small brown stains here and there. Side seams are holding fine but bottom seam has split almost along its entirety. Inserts Condition - Disc Condition(VISUALLY GRADED) The disc is in EX condition. The disc has a lovely, sharp shine to it and just some light scuffing here and there, but nothing at all bad looking. Looking really, really nice! The vinyl does look like it could do with a professional clean. Label Condition The labels are in EX+/NM- condition. The labels are really, really clean and look really nice! There's just a few, very light little spindlemarks and a touch of white around the centrehole. Top labels!
All records have been visually graded under a strong, 125W natural light desk lamp.
