Description
1965 Parlophone PMC 1267 'Rubber Soul' mono with matrices XEX 579-4 & XEX 580-4 respectively to denote it's a second pressing of that year.
The sturdy Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve has a laminated front and flipbacks with a 'plain' rear. Quite a clean sleeve really yet with rubs to the corners and a top edge plus some minor creasing and age related wear. For condition I'm giving it 7.5 /10.
The original 'Emitex' sleeve is poly-lined of course and bar some creases is one of the cleanest I've seen in years.
Both the yellow & black labels are nice as shown with the 'Sold in UK' and 'Gramophone Co Ltd' text. At the holes there is evidence of a healthy number of spins of the disc.
As for the flat and shiny record itself it reads 151g on my scale so is of a nice medium weight. Under a bright light I see some light scuffs and hairlines so visually I rate it 7.75 /10 for condition.
On my Linn / Naim hi-fi system it plays nice; these mono recordings are pretty solid. Some light clicks etc. on the dead bands between the tracks but otherwise nothing ontowards that bothers me. As such I'm plumbing for 8.5 /10 for audio quality.
99p start and the auction will run to the end.
Overseas bidders (ie buyers) - I've listed a 'universal' shipping cost but there's a range of prices now from the UK so I'll send you an invoice to reflect the actual postage cost to your destination.
