Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

Mega Rare Variation 1 STEREO Pressing!
Omits BMI and ASCAP Credits on the Labels!
This listing is for one of the big Holy Grails of Beatles collecting! On offer here is a very rare pressing of the Beatles debut US Capitol LP "Meet The Beatles".
This is the incredibly rare Variation 1 STEREO pressing that omits both the BMI and ASCAP publishing credits on the label!
The 'Variation 1' stereo copies of Meet The Beatles were the initial, very early presses of the album. Back in 1964 as Capitol were preparing the album they initially did not know the publisher credits for any of the songs. Rather than waste any time holding back production to find this information out they hastily prepared labels that did not have this information on and sent them off for an initial production run. After this the labels were amended to show the BMI and ASCAP publisher credits and production continued as normal.
What truly makes this LP special however is that this is the mega rare stereo pressing. Back in 1964 the mono format was by far the most popular seller out of the two and, up until 1966, stereo copies amounted to just 15% of the overall amount manufactured by Capitol. It's thought that only a tiny handful or so copies of the Stereo Variation 1 presses of Meet The Beatles survive today (fab4collectibles.com currently estimate at around just 50-60 copies) and most of these are most likely in a pretty poor condition.
These "variation 1" presses are the very earliest copies to come off of the production line back in 1964 and were the first to be put out on the shelves on release day. These initial run copies were subjected to the very height of Beatlemania! The vast majority of copies were completely trashed by fans by playing them over and over again, or being careless and knocking into record players when dancing, before being unceremoniously thrown away when it could no longer be played.
This is a very nice, respectible copy of this impossible to find record!

Tax Code on Disc - Sleeve Manufacturer 3 (Scranton, Pennsylvania) Side 1 Matrix Number ST-1-2047-A1 Side 2 Matrix Number ST-2-2047-B2 Side 1 Stampers - Side 2 Stampers - Cover Condition The cover is in VG condition. The cover is holding upbut is showing its age a little. The front is a little worn with a lightly creamed top banner and a little discoluration and creasing. Top seam has a little rubbing but has not split or torn. The bottom seam is a little more worn with the outer edges just starting to show signs of splitting. The spine is worn with the bottom third just starting to split. The back has browned a little with some light discoluration including a small amount of water damage at the bottom right corner. Inner Sleeve Condition The inner sleeve is in FAIR condition. The original blue Capitol inner sleeve is included but is showing its age with discoluration and a tear along the bottom seam. Inserts Condition - Disc Condition(VISUALLY GRADED) The disc is in VG+/EX- condition. The disc has a nice, sharp shine to it and looks clean with just some light scuffing here and there. Nothing at all serious or nasty looking. Very nice! Label Condition The labels are in VG+ condition. The labels look clean with a little wear. There's just a little spindlewear and a touch of whitening around the centrehole.
All records have been visually graded under a strong, 125W natural light desk lamp.

My Vinyl Grading:
MINT No true preowned disc can be mint. The highest I will ever grade a disc is NM+/M- if it looks untouched and unplayed, but the MINT description will only be for records I personally know have never been played (i.e. I personally bought from new) or for copies that are still sealed. NEAR MINT (NM) For discs that look near flawless and which may have just the slightest, barely visible little whispy marks here and there. EXCELLENT (EX) For discs that still retain a brilliant, clean shine but does have some light scuffs here and there. VERY GOOD (VG) For discs that still look clean and have a nice shine to them, but do have a fair amount of light scuffmarks and/or some light scratches. GOOD (G) For discs that look like they have been loved and have a fair amount of scuffs and surface scratches. Not in terrible condition, but would look like it would play with a lot of crackle. FAIR (F) For discs that may have some life left in them but are pretty trashed with numerous surface scuffs and heavier scuffs and scratches etc POOR (P) For discs that are unplayable and look completely trashed. Discs like this would only ever be offered if they were insanely rare.
